http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_monochrome_and_RGB_palettes#15-bit_RGBThis is what the gameboy advance uses. I figured the first Mockup frenzy would have very few restrictions, and gradually use fewer colours in later editions. I didn't want to exclude anyone who'd want to use more colours, which is why I chose the GBA, it's very forgiving. Edit: on wikipedia it also says: capable of displaying 512 simultaneous colors in "character mode" and 32,768 (215) simultaneous colors in "bitmap mode"But I'm not familiar with creating graphics for the GBA, if anyone would like to share their knowledge it'd be great

This is going to be great! Starting right now.
Oh, and it's not that big of a deal but the GBA was limited to 16bit colors.
I use 8bits when I paint casually in photoshop. If people use 32bits they're extremely disqualified

Mockup Frenzy sounds awesome. Let's do it. Agreed. Someone go and set up a topic for this that will be up for discussion, there seems to be enough people willing to do this and this sounds particularly fun to me. Done

Hello everyone, time to have some fun! Wait, you dont know what Mockup frenzy is?? I bring quotes with information to answer that very question! So, every two weeks, we'll put up a new set of guidelines for mockups, including but not limited to:
1 - Size 2 - Palette/Color Limits/Platform 3 - Subject Matter/Play Style
After 2 weeks, all the submissions will be gathered into the first post of the thread for easy viewing, and a new set of guidelines will be posted in a new thread. There is no voting, no winners, no competition except how great a job can YOU do. Members will be welcome to submit entries after the 2 week deadline, but there could be massive delays in when those entries are rolled back into the first post collection of submissions.
Finally, please only submit NEW works to the Mockup Frenzy. New works means ideas you started pixeling after the start date. I think that's about it! If we think of any more "rules" we'll be sure to add them. Otherwise, have fun pixeling!
In this thread we can post theme suggestions. Oh, and also: INOFFICIAL FIRST TIGer MOCKUP FRENZY THEME!?:TIGers are awesome. In fact, they're so awesome that the theme is to make a mockup that has something to do with tigers for the gameboy advance!
Size: 240 × 160 Platform: GBA ( = hardly no limitations ) Subject matter: Tiger themed. Deadline: Friday the 24th of July Kadoba: JosephCh: Gauss Jordan: moi: fucbillgates: genericuser: Kevin: Ishi (wip): I will of course update the pictures in the first post if you post newer versions/entries in the thread.

@Jrsquee: Was the displacement intentional? It bothers me...
yeah hexagons don't fit correctly in a rectangle i like asymmetry with such a simple pattern it's good to have some bother there if it's agitating, good if it's just gross, then it's bad I was referring to the fact that the edges between the black shapes (or rather: their borders) don't merge seamlessly, but is a bit skewed. But I guess it really adds to the pattern that it is a little displaced, I doubt I would've looked twice at it if it hadn't been displaced.

Hello everyone! We didn't really finish it, because it'd take insane amounts of time to complete, but we added some (wonderful) background music by Martin Dunér and compiled a "final" version, to get some closure and show you guys how far we got. Remember, it's not really a game, just a draft of a sketch of a game Direct download link
