I love the Soundtrack to Battletoad in battlemaniacs Dark TowerRagnarok CanyonEarthworm Jim 1 on the Snes/genesis also had one hell of a cool soundtrack. The "use your head" song was cool (I think it's been linked in this thread), but therE's also the battle with Psycrow theme. Psycrow themeStreet Fighter Alpha 3 had a cool soundtrack. I like the themes of Karin and Rose. KarenRoseKatamari Damacy's soundtrack is made of pure goodness. "Lonely rolling star" as been linked before if I recall, but I want to add another one. Alright two Fugue #7777Walking on a starThe Disgaea soundtrack was also pretty nice if I recall. I can't remember a song title in particular, but I always liked the happiness mixed with horror in the soundtrack. Castle theme

Is anybody around here ever had to work with the criware sound engine? I know it's not a common indie tool but I'm taking a chance and asking if anybody ever had experience with it. If so, I have a few questions for you. (We're currently developing on the DS, if that can help) - I'd like to know if the egine alows you to start a music at a given point
- Does anyone know if it's streaming music or not?
- Do sound engineers must use criware specific tools? Like, do they need a specific editor to make music/sounds for criware?
- Criware has its own file system that they strongly suggest to use it. I was wondering, since we are using our own file system, do we need to modify our own file system or the criware file system is independant?
Thanks to anyone with these infos!

The book is pretty interesting. It's a compilation of essays on various games. It has only one essay on a mainstream AAA game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. The others are about interactive fictions, table top games, politic games, flash mobs, interactive books and other topics. It's a very good read with very interesting topics, like the making of Façade or Emily Short's view on IFs. If you are interested in gaming in general, I recommend it. It's not an "how-to" to video game design book, it's food for thought, which is not a bad thing

Poison wasn't originaly a transexual but she became one because of the US release (punching around a girl in a game in Japan seems acceptable but it's not in the US) Sodom (subway level boss) is an American fascinated with Japan. his whole design is based around misinterpratation of the Japanese culture and language. He was renamed Katana in non-Japanese releases. Rolento (Italy level boss) is a former soldier who's extremly violent. He fights with a stick, grenades and metal wires. Andoree is an homage to Andre the Giant, the famous 80's wrestler. The rest of the gang are just freaks

Get out of there while they haven't banned emigration (is that the right word?).
Yup, that's the right word.

Ah, here we are! According to Romero, Mike Wilson would be mostly responsible for that ad that refered to Romero's gaming prowesses. However, these two guys don't like each other much and knives were flying in 2008 regarding Gamecock's publicity stunts.

The Daikatana marketing was done in part by one of the Gamecock guy if I remember well. Don't remember his name though. My memeory is hazy but I recall reading about him and Romero publicly quarelling on blogs or personal websites. I need to do a bit of research.
