I have to congratulate microsoft on their dedication to consistency;
Windows 95: pretty alright Windows ME: burning trash Windows XP: pretty alright Windows Vista: burning trash Windows 7: pretty alright Windows 8: burning trash
You skipped 98 and 2000. Anything from Windows 95 to ME still were based on the same version, so all those counts as Windows 4.x. (I got told.)

I know I'm ready to give Linux/Ubuntu a serious shot--especially if Valve throws their weight in that direction--but...
If you're going to do that, go Fedora. A little less bullcrap there than with Ubuntu.

What would be the need for that when there's nothing to look at above/below you?
It'll be more a half dome than a skybox. Nothing below, clouds and stars above. As in why do we have the ability to look up and down if there's nothing to look at up or down?

A flat scrolling plane for the entire sky would work if you couldn't look up and down, but being able to forces my hand into having a skybox.
What would be the need for that when there's nothing to look at above/below you?

So what was the reason Delver was removed from Greenlight? The $100 charity fee?

Made some more progress with the town mockup today after giving levels control over the view distance, fog color, and the sky's lighting color. Tweaked those values to make this dusk scene: The levels are now loading for the most part from the new level format, but aren't doing anything fancy like spawning objects from the geninfo.dat file or using the texture picking system from last week. Need to get those implemented, then next up is probably a skybox so that the sky isn't just one flat color. This is quite the progress.

A moment of silence please.
No need to worry about interruption from Dr. Freeman. Black Mesa's very impressive, but bugged with water overlays.

Got duped by a replacement laptop. Not as graphically powerful as before. But on the bright side, there's still these crappy "retro" indie games to occupy my time like SUPER BOX CRATE! YES!
