Oh good find for those bugs, ill definately add items down ditches being destroyed and fix that fireplace bug... Nice house melly haha See your putting to good use those lanterns from the mines As for blocks that collide horizontally vs vertically, some are effected by gravity, others are not, that might be it, though all blocks will fall from the sky if they arent maintained, leaving your house in a pile of toppled blocks eventually. Ill also look into the wind behaviors, make sure its blowing stuff around properly... hmmmm

Just putting a new build up now with some minor tweaks, gonna sort this out right now, if melly says its anoying its anoying damnit! Oh and ill fix that directional mouse jump thing also... edit: Okay try that new build, it might not be exact but theres more control in the air now, i hope thats what you mean, also removed the directional push at the start of the jump so its not dependant on the direction, feedback?? www.paul-greasley.com/garden/garden.zipedit1: I lowered the friction across the board to all the ground tiles also, that should stop the problem with walls slowing you too much to clear them, atleast I hope.... edit2: Lowered wall friction and increased jump height a bit, might break a few obsticles ingame but makes for a easier time controling.

Thanks for playin dude Thanks to tim for the kickass feedback, ive added tree regrowth back in due to low lumber supplies, and also fixed a ton of bugs including the repeat jump bug (i think...). New build on frontpage would appreciate anyone who had the jump bug to check it out as I couldnt reproduce it... Oh and if you dont repair your house or leave a gap in its structure it will leak now And as usual cold water lowers your stamina, so fix those leaky houses! As exampled in this newb house i quickly build... my other other other house is 3 stories high and full of badass

yea just reuploading with a few fixes, try in a few min... update: Just fixed the try again bug and the slowdown (assuming some people are still getting slowdown in general), its up. Now im gonna add some bear traps and explosives, yeaaa On that note, next up after the fun stuff above assuming melly gives a extention is item conversion and upping the tree/lumber levels, so you can convert lumber into various house objects instead of relying on finding them, and also convert food into cooked meals instead of just eating stuff raw...

As the blazen hazen says, its just a demo... Direct X 9, ps2 support probably required, it doesnt run all that friendly on slower machines.... Would appreciate any bug reports, spelling errors, general dodgyness sent to my pm on tigsource, there will be alot of it, that would be super Thanks Compound and Craig Stern for the killer beats Ummmm check the first page for todo updates tommorow I guess, theres a ton still todo, so it looks like this might extend past the comp, we shall see... Oh on a final note, ill be putting a guide up on the first page, since alot of the items are quite vague/etc and will help people who are having a bit of trouble...

It should be fine ill add a toggle option in after the deadline, but before the deadline, and if it extends, ill be spending my time filling out player built housing a bit better, because it was something I wanted to add initially but not sure if id find the time, so I got a few days left, might aswell creep it out. Just need the weather system to play nice with a player made house so when you go outside the weather damages you. I should have a demo up tommorow though really depends if I can sort out my hosting... Oh and managed to lure in compound again to do sfx, thanks man Requirements to play are windows machine, dx9, and a fair bit of ram, basicly the same as edmund, havent really spend much time optimising it.

I want to play this real bad. Like real bad.
Haha cool as man, well it should be done in a few days, just waiting on a few last little things really, that and well making sure nothings too broken, it probably will be though, its the biggest competition game ive made. Gonna try and get the level editor good enough so people can mod it if they want also.

ill put up two builds then when its done, because im pretty sure the pixel purists will hunt me down and all that Personally I like the blurry look more, but thats just me. i love that fuzz! please leave it in as an option or release a separate Blurry Edition. most people will probably want a crisp version, of course, so don't ignore them, i s'pose.
also, will there be destructible terrain? seems like that's where you're heading with this.
Ummm nope, I wish ha, the game is setup to do it but it will just break it in so many ways...

Sweet Been coding on it last few nights, adding a bit more depth to the weather system, the rates that it reduces your stamina, stuff like that, also adding in physical and mental sickness, every time the players stamina is reduced to 0 you gain a sickness, most are curable except maybe death via other healing items in the game world, ive pretty much covered everything from getting a stroke to phobias to straight up crazy seeing fantasy type creatures. got a pretty extensive list of items now as ive spent alot of time on this inventory system, more time than I would have liked really... So the new direction for the platforming mechanics of the game is using items to assist in platforming, one example comes to mind to cross a river you need to lumber a ton of trees, and use the wood as sort of a floating bridge to get to the other side, stuff like that. Id post some screenshots but I havent really done much more art yet

Nothing like some sexy graphics to get people interested. And we call ourselves indies. Hahah so true So got the inventory system sorted last night which is cool its been causing me problems for a day or two now, finally got it working nice with the mouse, that and I box2d'd me some trees Massive time waste but was fun, so when your character lumbers them they fall down n stuff, yayyyy Theres a bit of slowdown in the vid, was recorded from my laptop... And theres a fair few temp graphics floating around. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRfrh0VEUG8
