I like it. Are those tall trees in the distance also a part of the update or is it some kind of a mod?

the serious thing is why i didn't like the matrix movies -- if you're going to have a movie that has philosophical discussions make sure those discussions don't make people who actually read philosophy cringe. i liked matrix 2 and 3 better than matrix 1 because they were less serious and more fighting.

Wait what. I liked Matrix 1 better than 2 and 3 because it had none of this pseudo-philosophical crap.

New trees make me want to die.

Please elaborate, I haven't seen them yet.

What is your problem exactly?
1386  Developer / Technical / Re: Which C++ graphics engine should I choose? on: January 15, 2011, 11:26:15 AM
Though I must say, if you only want to create 3d games why bother with 2d? You can just learn it all while learning 3d certainly?

Sure you can. It's just that it will be much harder. Learning how to structure your game, manage input, graphics etc. is hard by itself when you are just starting out.

But there is one thing that is a much worse idea than going straight to 3D, and that is making your dream game as your first game.
It's an AWFUL idea because I can absolutely guarantee you that your first game will be your most crappy one. Learn how to program games by making some smaller projects first, a top down shooter, a platformer maybe. It might be in 3D if you prefer (although I think it's better to at least make your first attempt in 2D) but keep it small and simple in the beginning. Then grow bigger as you grow more confident.

Seriously, consider it.

Professor Layton and the Layton Professor.

It actually wasn't rhetorical, but it seems the OP wants to write his game in C++ and I always thought that Unity3D was more of a C# thing.

Description: You realize you'll become a sword while the other dude waits for his coin to land on an edge.
Hint: Both of you have only three fingers.
Hint: You had to change your (already strange) eating habits because of the other guy.
Hint: You're blue.

Srsly, is it that hard or that uninteresting? Either way I suck at riddles :C

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 Grin
Why did I took so long to solve it. Facepalm

Correct! Smiley

1393  Feedback / Playtesting / Re: Haxball Beta ( Multiplayer Ball Game ) on: January 13, 2011, 10:31:38 AM
maybe have the clock count down instead of up.

I second that idea, and I must also say I am most impressed, I rechecked the game recently and it had over 3000 players online and like 15 fansites with ladders, championships and whatnot >:0
You are officially no longer the guy who made Gusanos, you became the guy who made Haxball, and that's a huge improvement, congrats Smiley

You go with a bunch of guys you dont know but they all know you. And the solution to your problem was before your noses all along.

Hint: Everything you get better at turns out you knew it all along too.

Planescape Torment of course :D Didn't see the original description earlier.

That made it too obvious.

Fallout Tactics.

That's right. Should've made the hint more subtle.
1398  Developer / Technical / Re: 3D graphics engine, which one to chose? on: January 13, 2011, 05:54:58 AM
I've read a tutorial about how to setup and run Ogre3D inside SDL. I'm sold. My current engine is written in SDL for openGL context, input, timer and fonts. I also intended to use SDL for networking and sound. This way I can keep my current engine and just run Ogre3D inside to handle openGL rendering. Awesome Smiley

Nope. Hint: each picture is a word and the words combined make up the title of the game.

This is controversial? Aaron Spectre is a fucking beast live, one of the very few people who can "rock out" on a laptop without looking goofy or awkward.

Yeah, I guess anyone who has seen him live would agree. On a side note, he was playing a guitar all the fucking time  Hand Shake Left Evil Hand Metal Right
