i use low-res graphics in my games because i'm bad at art. i try to offset the inevitable "retro" feel a bit by not using chiptune soundtracks though.

This. And in my 3D games I use low poly stuff with virtually no textures and claim it's minimalist simply because I can't do art stuff (though it does look nice and fits the atmosphere)

I'd like to see Lords of Uberdark do well
