Just finished having a play with it. For the most part it seems pretty good. Although the behaviours and what-not confused me slightly as well. I suppose they're just there to try to prevent the whole drop and drag thing getting cluttered. I just found myself wondering 'Am I allowed to put the movement stuff in with the jumping mechanics, or do they have to be separated behaviours?' It feels a bit weird that way.

Still, I've only been fiddling for a bit, and it doesn't seen like it'd be too complex to get to grips with. There's just a lot in your face. All the time. From the very beginning. So trying not to lose track of something on one tab whilst you wade through behaviours on another is hard.

Sweeeeet. Time to give this thing a try.

Well according to this (http://www.eisenfeuer.com/updates.ef?p=41) the short takes place after the original portal ending (before the retcon) which would explain her still having the portal gun.

Is that really them?
325  Player / General / Re: Desktop screenies! on: May 31, 2011, 06:51:55 AM
I do indeed. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_tsdzaevvD18/Sw5g9uFyIOI/AAAAAAAAABE/GL2MZ8QWgWc/s1600/ME_London.jpg

It's from Philip Reeves Blog, done by an artist called Christian Bravery. He's done some other bits from mortal engines as well, although I can't find those.

Epileptic So...cluttered...I can't comprehend it.

Mortal Engines? Yes please!

Woah, that was extremely well done. Although I kinda have to agree with the highest comment:

It's extremely well done, but the only reason I wasn't happy with it was that, to me, Chell was too strong to go mad like that. Some of the subtler things I could see, because she's bound to have flashbacks of the horrors, but I felt like her driving force was her ability to stay sane in the face of the things that so many others broke down on.
Still, that doesn't stop it from being awesome.  Grin

Hmmm, that is a strange one.
The first few posts on this page have some things you could try

Not sure how much help that'll be though.

EDIT: From looking around on the gmc it seems a lot of people have encountered this. Some say it can be caused when the surfaces drawn are too large to be stored in the RAM. Other say it might be something to do with DirectX. Solutions are pretty vague to be honest. Is dxdiag giving any errors?

@saibot Where was that first one taken? Looks very fantasy-esque.

I loved the game, and of course the music was brilliant, so this is sure to be great Grin Can't believe I hadn't seen this till now.

I like Sad Realisation. For some weird reason it reminded me of Civ 1, but that's besides the point. The simplicity of it really works in its favour to be honest. However, and I'm no music expert here, but the very beginning notes before the main melody starts seem rather empty. Maybe consider having a subtle drone underneath or simply have those notes sustain a bit longer before they fade. Again, I could be talking out my arse here, but that's just what I felt Grin Nice work.

Cool, certainly sounds interesting. Is that your own art there or pieces from the fan site?
335  Player / Games / Re: Stencyl finally coming out May 31st on: May 29, 2011, 04:17:47 AM
Is it solely drag and drop?

Wow, I didn't even notice that...
337  Developer / Art / Re: Mockups, or the "Please say this is going to be a game" thread on: May 27, 2011, 04:42:44 PM
'Smash x' might be better. Sounds more strengthy.
338  Player / General / Re: Sleepwalking on: May 27, 2011, 02:27:40 PM
I've never walked in my sleep, but that's probably due to my extreme laziness.
Cheesy nice!

Thankfully I've never sleep walked, or at least I've never been aware that I have. Sounds scary...

I was thinking about grabbing it with my next paycheck. Does it have a lot of good stuff?

Yeah, I'd highly recommend it. I'd only ever seen his some his more recent work but this book goes quite a ways back. Very good source of inspiration.
