Hmmm, whilst I'm not of the expertise to tell you how exactly, I'm sure that it's possible, or something close to that is possible. Maybe using a combination of surfaces and blend modes?

So it was rather a popularity contest then an animation contest.
Shame, seems to be the way with a lot of these kind of things. But at least you had fun doing it though! =]

if a game has a story that compels some people and that some people love, i've no problem with saying that it has a good story, regardless of what i think about it
exactly, a story can't be inherently bad if some people like. It must be good to some extent, otherwise why would those people enjoy it so? I suppose that can be applied to most things actually: film, music, food etc.

Yeah, it can get confusing, but once you get the hang of it you're juggling screens like no ones business. And if it gets hectic you can just put it on auto, like Inanimate said.

That is a nice hat...not sure if I could resist temptation.
Nice animation Jason, what did you use to make it?

Yes! I loved TWEWY. I just can't believe Squeenix said that they weren't going to be producing anymore games like that, and instead they would focus on their main series'. They were on to something good there... And yeah, I thought the gameplay made great use of the platform it was on. It seems it didn't use all the normal DS features in a gimmicky way and actually tried to do something properly with them.

I really love Ian Mcque's stuff, but the thing that always bugs me about it, is how do the ships stay afloat? they don't even have propellers or balloons!
Damn, I've never noticed that...and now it's bugging me too There's something quite...nice...about Sven Nordqvist stuff. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I think it's the that the style makes them feel like drawings from an old fairytale book that you'd read when you were young. The witch on the rock has gotta be my favourite.

What happens if a teleporting arrow hits an enemy? Do you just teleport right next to them?

Sweet, I really like those actually. An artist I found recently is Ian Mcque. His work has a really nice textural quality to it. Also, airships:

I have nothing against it, but there are weirdos out there without winRAR or 7zip.
And unfortunately I'm also experiencing similar problems to reinebold.
