Developer / Technical / Re: HTML 5 for Game Development? Thoughts?

HTML5 is NOT READY YET.
Sound doesn't work at all or is incredibly spotty.
Processing speed for graphics is all over the place in different browsers. Oh, and it's not even close AT ALL to speeds you could get from native code in a DirectX or OpenGL game.
WebGL 3D support is pretty much only in Firefox
It's not as easy as working with Flash, where you can animate things on the flash stage by hand and manipulate it with code.
All your code work will pretty much be open source and anyone who wants to get into your code can do so easily.
Writting stuff in javascript blows.
Javascript itself blows.
I had a hell of a time even getting my test game to use nearest neighbor/point sampling at all. I had to look through a bunch of obscure forum posts, find the functions that turn it on, and then through incredible trail and error, I got it barely working. This is after several hours, and it just fixed itself for no apparent reason. Oh, yeah, and the filtering I changed it to only works in firefox and IE9. Oops.

Don't quit, when it's all over you'll look back and kind-of be sad you can't go there anymore. You'll have fond (and probably not so fond, but funny) memories of things that happened there you won't ever get to experience ever again. All the people you remember from school will go away or do stupid things later and you won't see many of them ever again unless they are your close friends. All your teachers will move on and change schools. If you really liked them or not, you probably won't ever see them again. Just go to school. Besides, some of the math you learn WILL come in handy if you want to make games later. Your teachers won't tell you this or demonstrate how, but later, you'll plug-in some of the math you learned and be like, "oh yeah, I remember this..." 15. I want a mustache already. Dang.
No you don't, facial hair fucking sucks if you find out you don't want some. You know how sick of shaving I am? I shave and a few days later it's like I never did anything. It totally blows.

We had the most ROFL-stompfest game ever (like 32-5 for each team's total kills), then had a terrible game with cow abandoning me in-lane and feeding then disconnecting for 7 minutes, but we still won.
AP Teemo with no boots overpowered.
I would like to see Move Quick get more move speed with AP, but w/e.

The bots are already better than like 30% of the random people you play with.

What will man look like in the distant future in the year 2000? Let's take a look from 1930: http://www.wimp.com/fashionpredictions/Oh, 1930, you so silly with crazy outfit designs, no one would ever be caught dead wearing that stuff. "He will be fitted with a telephone, radio, and containers for coins and candy for cuties..." Wow, they were right about the telepohne+radio, except it's one device and does more than they could have possibly imagined. I can't get enough retro-futurism, why the fuck can't we live in giant glass domes in the sky?

Went to create a 3D tiled renderer (a game with tiles, but 3D tiles - think of Minecraft with blocks made by smaller voxels) but it failed miserably Not that it doesn't work, but it's sloooow... 0.4 ms per ray, and it should be ten times faster to be acceptable! Goes in the scrap bin, no time to reinvent the wheel Did you try out quadtreeing(spatial partitioning) + raycasting (what Nix said)?

CNN is always painful...
I can't stop thinking how much better this would look in 1080p.

Dentists poke, jab, and stab at your gums, and then tell you that you wouldn't be bleeding if you flossed more. Gums are pretty much exposed flesh, pretty much. Right?
Yeah, would be nice if there was some magical way they could just expedite the process and clean your godforsaken mouth out without having to grind away at your gum-line. Thanks Nix and Inanimate for responding.
My name is something a teacher called me once. It fits me at times.
I don't have much to say, but sometimes I think my hobbies make it worse. Comic Books, Video Games, etc. have given me an unrealistic expectation out of life. I can go play a Legend of Zelda game, and I get to go save the whole world. I'm a hero. Comic books are filled with superheroes with impossible powers that one could never attain in real life. I think real life is just boring compared to those things. It's hard to enjoy life sometimes when you know it will never be as good as something non-existent.
But you can have any powers you want just by playing any game you want, and you get infinite lives/tries. How much would it suck to have some awesome super power, just to get killed by your insane arch nemesis and then...well...your dead. It would also suck to have some super power, because there would no end to the media/fanatics/villains that would never give you peace, EVEER. Every waking moment in-the-back-of-your-mind you know there are 6+ people constantly trying to ensure that you die because they hate you/you stop their evil plans/they are evil.
