The Dojo is different this time (new building) and I think we are actually taking up quite a bit of it this time (hence the waitlist!) but I'm not sure what the hard facts are.
I would *not* rely on having internet or power for this. In the past this has been mostly an unplugged art jam. Paper and pens and what not. There's only like 2 outlets in this entire Denny's and they're meant for a vacuum cleaner I'm pretty sure.
I think as long as you say that you are hosting this, the word can be spread at GDC. Seriously. The art jam at first was like "hey lets go eat at denny's and draw stuff" and then somehow 70 people showed up.
Last year, the art jam was people coming to just draw stuff or get out their laptops to show off and play test projects with each other. Just a low key show and tell & jam environment with lots of milkshakes distributed.
The turn out was every seat in denny's was occupied.
I think the ones in previous years started around 7 or 8pm, I forget what day of the week they were though.
Just as a heads up if you guys are gonna try to organize a denny's art jam: DEFINITELY let them know ahead of time when 80+ people are going to pour into their restaurant. Last year was the first year Adam let them know ahead of time and things went way smoother vs. the previous years where we just stormed the Denny's and the one waitress and cook they had on staff had meltdowns. Wednesday nights at 8pm typically isn't a super busy night for Denny's...
