I'd just like to say that the TIGS Assemblee compo is total genius, and I can't wait to see the results! Truly fantastic idea for a competition. buttering 'em up. good tactic. Oh, come on. We all know Blargh is a crazy fanboy of TIGS and loves everything they do.

this isn't the first time i've been "in" a game in some form, unfortunately:
- fedora spade episode 4 (as lin ku) - santa claus vs. the heroists - ohr house (season one) - harlock & rinku's game which includes the game bill's never go west
so this makes five D:
I wouldn't say it's unfortunate that you've been in 5 games now. I'd say that's a pretty awesome thing.

Community / Announcements / Tea Time With Luap Sere - Make the World Right

About a week and a half ago I was suffering from restless nights. I just couldn't sleep. A certain dilemma was plaguing my mind that I couldn't stop thinking upon. I tried and tried to just forget about it, but it just would not go away. Eventually, I decided to consult with KniteBlargh. In discussion it was found that he, also, was having problems sleeping. And it didn't stop there: our sleepless nights were caused by the same reason. What is this reason, you ask? Prepare yourself, for it may come as a surprise that: Luap Sere is not pleased. His tea needs stirring. As shocking as this may seem, it's true. We came to the only logical conclusion that a logical person thinking logically can reason upon: We must make a game about this. So, we got together and labored away for a nearly indeterminate amount of time (although we estimate it to be around 3 days). KniteBlargh clicking veraciously on his mouse, and me tapping away relentlessly on my keyboard. Clic graciously provided the music (we actually just stole it from his archives), and we were done. It is now ready to be the catalyst that sets this World right. While playing this game please keep in mind that this is not simply just a game, and you are not simply just playing. The fact that Sere's tea is not stirred is an invasion on humanity itself. "I disagree," you may say, but let me ask you this: Can you really hold that position with Sere's head nodding to the side in such disdain, his eyes burning a hole through your conscious? No. The answer is no, you can not. --------------------------- Game Jolt PageDirect DownloadInspiration taken from this fellow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFmKTSR5fzs(Happy birthday, man!) No one really knows me and I'm absolutely useless but would like a place to stay. Don't believe I'd need any sleeping equipment. I'd be fine with just a space on the floor or something.

I'm in! A few people stayed in hotels last year, but most everyone lodged with locals. We'll start up a housing thread where locals will offer space and people can work out who they're staying with.
If you want to look up hotels the office is 209 E Baseline Rd, Tempe AZ--I think there's a cluster of cheap places at Baseline and the I-10.
I'll be booking a flight fairly soon now. I'll probably be heading down the 7th to get a day in of chillaxin' before the jam. Local lodging would be a fun way to get to know some people as well, but if there's not much space I'm fine with living with the rats in some crap hotel. Can't wait!

Hey guys. Turns out that I'm going to a seminar thing at Sitewire which just happens to be in Tempe, Arizona (about 10 miles away from Flashbang), which just so happens to also be running from the 11th - 14th. Which pretty much means I'll be able to tag along. I don't have any games in development, but I do have a crap load of work on Game Jolt to do. Any problems with me working on something other than a game while I'm hanging out? And, since I'm so amazing, I will allow you guys to announce the fact that I'm going to promote the Jam. Also, what's everyone else doing for lodging? Anything cheap down there?

Yeah, could have been, agj.
Hey Null & Void, we don't accept demos for commercial games (at the moment). We do allow work-in-progress free games, though. So, if it's a demo for a game that will be released as freeware, it can be popped up. We'd definitely love any freeware side stories, though.

I'll definitely add some information on how the system handles thumbnails on the respective pages. For some outdated/broken documentation as to how the API will work: http://gamejolt.com/api/doc/REST uses simple HTTP calls to retreive and put information to a server. So, nearly all game creation tools should have no problem using it. You could even do it all in the browser.

Ah, yeah, Paul. I didn't mean to make it sound easy, or like I think it will magically become a haven of Indie games. We're working hard. We're building plans on this moment. We have every intention to work HARD. It's the only way it will work. And thanks for the help! As to Nathaniel. Search is in the works. Should have been built out LONG ago. We do have MANY things in the works for gamers. Now that developers are being pleased we'll be switching our attention over to gamers. Achievements are in the works. They will be released probably when the ad sharing comes out of beta. Achievements will be done through a simple REST API, this way it will work with nearly all technologies and will not be locked in to a specific creation tool. This also means you will be able to test it with your browser, which is always fun. That's not all we have planned, though. I'm hesitant to say much more at this time, but expect to see some nice features for gamers now. Now that we have more data to work from (ratings, comments, etc.), we can go ahead and implement some of our ideas.

Then I'll guess we'll have to work a lot. Seriously, I see no reason to be negative with this. The only reason I can find to say a site will never achieve enough traffic is to say, "See, I told you so!" later on. A site succeeds when there's a community around it that wants it to succeed.
