That's good, but I think the way the head detaches is slightly disturbing. What about if the head threatened to float away, but actually didn't?

Sprite animations now in place. These aren't that good, but OK enough for now. This animation shows a damage effect when someone is hit and a ricochet type effect for when an object is hit.

Mockup for Double Death. I really need to get to making that devlog soon. Tongue

This looks really good. But why do you need guns? Make it a double dragon style beat em up with zombies!  Evil

Amazing work!!  Kiss

I'm working on replacing the particle explosion effect with a more retro sprite animation similar to that used in 8-bit games. I hope that will fit better with the game style. Still working on little bits and pieces..

I like the original scanline pictures.

BTW: You have this down as 'Done' in the Thread logo.

Are you going to add a glow around the sprites with one of your fancy shader things? Wink

Any collab graphics are free for me to use.  Cheesy  Wink

Delicious: I thought a lot of games in the past that were 2D pixel based had some guys who did the backgrounds, others worked on tiles and others were best at the sprites. That kind of thing could be done here..

On a side note, I'm expanding the tileset bit by bit, and I am planing on some more mockups soon.

Excellent.  Ninja

There are some awesome pixel artists on here, and I was wondering if any of you have tried working with each other to make the very best game mockups you can?

So that each of you try to refine and improve the others graphics so that they are at the highest level you can collectively do. Hope that makes sense!

Would love to see some mockups at such a high level!! Wink

These are really really good! Are you going to do more sprites/tiles & mockups for this set? Smiley

The Verge just gave this a great review (8/10)

Well done! Smiley

Cheers!

I'm finding it difficult to work on the game besides tinkering around the edges. I used to have a lot more stamina for programming, but not so much anymore now I'm older and married.  Undecided

That's what I meant to type.. :O

I must be tired today!

The Spacehero font is made up of horizontal or vertical lines, so I suppose a D would be like:

###
#  #
#  #
###

As in a pixel font. I'm not sure how else to make the O look more like an O without making it look more pixel based, or adding in curved or diagonal likes.

I read it as a O.. Smiley

Thanks, yeah I think you might be right. Originally I wanted some contrast against the very square font for Spacehero, but I think it might be a bit too much difference at the moment.
