I loved it in general. Those challenges you could do during races were really fun. That is what Achievements these days should be, not "finish this chapter, you'll get points!"

The only other games I can remember that had an achievement system similar to Kirby Air Ride are Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers

Why do people hate this design? It's brilliant. Reminds me of Gitarooman.

Honestly, if anything, this one is the odd one out:

Also some more art:

Please says this is going to be a game.

Can we rename the thread to this? Seems to be the standard reply in here Tongue

Graphics: Sexy.

What? It looks pretty damn bad. Some environment pieces look like they're straight out of N64. Good god.

I never liked Prime. I'm loving Other M though. Go figure

BlazBlue (series):

I honestly don't believe this was actually pixeled. They must have software to convert it to something like this.

How about some Henk Nieborg love?

Very yes! The guy makes amazing stuff, especially his backgrounds <3
The fact he lives in Holland and yet I've never met him is crazy, really.

This is the first time I learned that was a 'handpencil', it always looked like a hand poking with its index finger to me

This is how I saw it too. Like a finger wiggling around a bit.

Yes, but I'm a pretty picky person Tongue
Really though, in a game like Prinny you'd expect the main character to be running, not walking. This is the same problem I had with a lot of the Indie Brawl walkcycles. It's great pixel art, but it just doesn't feel right in context.

Anyway, we're slowly getting into animation territory now, and that's not what this thread is about.

The walkcycle in the Prinny game bugged me a bit. Didn't feel right for an action game like that.

Man, KoF12 has amazing animation

Thanks everyone! Smiley

some movement for the weapons in the idle anim would help a lot

I agree. Will get to that

Will they appear in a game?

The girl with the swords is a female version of Zero, wanted to make a sort of one-level parody game. Don't know if I'll ever get around to programming it though. I'd like to Smiley

Here's the finished Layle, with and without his Crystal Bearer powers:

I totally agree on Trip World. I should really play that sometime.

As earlier mentioned, The Metal Slug series have fantastic animation and pixel art. In my opinion they're easily the best-looking games out there.

While I agree, that crab bot is a pretty bad example. Look at those fucking ugly arms and especially the pincers. Dear god

Guilty Gear's sprites are too big for my tastes. It loses what I love so much about pixel art, which is using small amounts of pixels to suggest a lot of detail.

Can't pick an all-time favourite, but here are some that I really like:

Drill Dozer

Mother 3

Metal Gear: Ghost Babel

SNK vs Capcom: Match of the Millenium

The Legend of Zelda: the Minish Cap

As promised. Will redo the idle probably 'cause it's shitty.

WIP. Been playing more Crystal Bearers.

Also something I made at BIGjam but didn't post here yet:

I have more of this character on my laptop. Will post later Smiley
