Wow the oculus looks amazing, and only $300 for the dev. kit (if I'm not mistaken?), that's a respectable starting price for the masses.
I think the shield looks reasonable, I feel handheld gaming has focused too much on 'portability', and under this banner has allowed itself to become obsolete compared to the emerging smartphone and tablet markets. Even still, it's hard to justify yet another handheld entrant into the market which doesn't seem to differentiate itself significantly from the competition, especially considering how quickly technology is moving forward.

Developer / Audio / Re: TIGSource Musical Challenge XIX - Hot!

It's a matter of interpretation of the theme. There are certainly multiple ways to interpret the 'hot' theme, such as: -literally through a mix that generates ear fatigue and a general physical discomfort, -culturally through associations to exotic, western and perhaps romantic themes, -physically through a dance beat/theme
I wanted to try to reach for tones that gave a 'feeling' of being complete/safe-- to try and get your body to warm itself up. True, it does maybe sound winter-y, but I was thinking about chilling inside, wrapped up in a blanket in-front of a heater, inspired by the OP "It's cold outside (at least over here in Germany), so let's heat things up a bit".
I don't mind if it's disqualified for the challenge, I made it for fun and I did have fun making it ^^
Thanks for the tips, much appreciated! :D

Developer / Business / Re: Are fan games "risky" to make?

In my experience, fan games hold as much weight as a fan fiction. People who are bored and looking for more of the same might be interested, but they usually won't threaten canon.
Will you get sued? Depends who you are ripping off. The real question is why not just make it original and avoid the issue, especially if you are going to the effort of creating the assets yourself.

I enjoy this game, it ticks all the right boxes for me as far as FPS's go (good hit detection, headshots, sniper rifles). Air combat is also entertaining, however I strongly feel air to air missiles need to go. That being said, grab yourself the air to air missiles if you want to win 99% of air battles with minimal skill level. The learning curve for this game is relatively low compared to other FPS's, if you are good at FPS's you will definitely be able to consistently achieve a positive KDR in this game.
It's true that there is no incentive to defend land. In Guild Wars 2, the World vs World aspect is comparable to the Planetside 2 model, where they solved the issue of purpose/strategic objective by rewarding servers with points for holding/capturing objectives. In my opinion, Guild wars 2 successfully fostered an environment of player pride for their servers. Something that both games got 'wrong' was having 3 sides and 3 or 4 maps which are pretty much the same thing all over again. The fourth map in Guildwars 2 actually works though, because there is a huge point bonus to owning the big castle (35 points). But with 3 other maps split between 3 factions, guess what happens? Factions will tend to cluster and dominate a single map when the populations get too low to sustain a presence on multiple maps.
I disagree with people who insist that the game is incomplete. The game play is smooth without obvious flavour-of-the-month over-powered game-killers. Too many MMOs come out with a whole bunch of things to do right at the start, which actually translates to a whole bunch of things you will never do and never appreciate.
I think it's funny people say the game runs slow or there is some problem with the game making it slow. The game runs fine if your PC is up to date, try playing on a lower setting and reduce draw distance if there is a problem. There was obviously an internet lag issue with the video posted above. As a reference, my main is on Jaeger (NA server) and I play from Australia very comfortably. There are Australian servers too, FYI.

I wanted to get that whole spanish feel throughout the song and emphasise the mystery and epicness of El Pulpo, the whole idea of a masked spanish hero. Wow really nice job, I can feel that when I listen to this! I couldn't help but smile listening to this.
