If you need a wiki for documenting and collaborative work etc., consider WetPaint. So it's like a wiki thing? I guess I was scared by all the sites they showed being about TV shows I fear and hate. It is a wiki thing, yes, it just showcases featured wikis from all sorts of various hobbies. But you can have a private wiki there.

I hate _____________ politics. It's nothing but petty squabbling over pointless trivialities, because when you compare the two parties' positions on substantial matters they are both fucking identical. You know that episode of South Park where they say that democracy is like a contest between a giant douche and a turd sandwich? Well ____________ democracy is just two turd sandwiches.
Fixed. Fill in the blanks.

Shenanigans, Paul? Riddle me this, then. Where were those polls taking place?
On news media sites? Who was following the MJ trial closely? MJ fans. The sane folks tend not to waste time on polls about what they aren't following closely enough to form an opinion of.
On popular music sites? Guess who frequents these sites. The poll sample data was taken from which population?
Don't bother answering to me specifically, as I am distancing myself from this MJ topic, seeing my own sister likes MJ (she's from that generation). So, yeah, enjoy ranting about polling sources and statistical populations.
Also: Mick Jagger rocks.

Appropriate it may not be, however it is quite relevant. Michael Jackson's death is exposing the popular culture's corruption. Look at his life alone; how many surgeries has he undergone in quest to appease his fans? I cannot help but wonder whether his managers influenced him into turning into a wax statue or it was his own conscious choice to be closer to his fans.
When is a good time to discuss the ups and down of his life as well as the mutual influences between him and the world, if not at his death? When our beloved die, we reminisce their lives. Such questions give an insight into the popular culture.
Moreover, this is a topic on game development forum, not the funeral aisle with MJ's closest relatives and friends in black silently accepting guests' condolences.

I'm not sure how you can write all that and then claim you're both empathic and not pretentious. Get over yourself.
Fair enough, I would expect the same from you as well.

No, seriously, if it was just the generation gap, rock and stuff would be banned. It is the money. They have a powerful lobby which has purely material interests.
Who would benefit from the law that only rated games can be sold in stored? The rating organizations, of course, which expect a hefty sum for their service.
Who would benefit from the law that would ban computer games altogether? Whoever is losing profit to video entertainment and is playing the "violence" card. Without games, youth would have to seek entertainment elsewhere - music, movies etc.
I know this sounds quite conspiracy theory like, but the lobbies are there that allow influential politicians to propose such ridiculous laws.

Have you noticed that many popular singers always die at a somewhat young age. Elvis:Death at 42 John Lennon:Death at 40 Micheal Jackson:Death at 50 Mick Jagger... oh wait. Anyway, I don't consider 50 to be somewhat young - 50's are considered late middle ages. Michael Jackson led a fulfilled life, though he may or may not have had a regret or couple. The privilege that many people don't have. He is leaving quite a legacy which will be remembered for decades.

That's exactly what I'm talking about though, that high and mighty attitude. Oh, oh, you guys are so small minded feeling slightly sorry for this guy, when there are people starving in the desert and being blown up and taken prisoner! I'M too busy feeling sorry for those people to care about this one guy! You should be too! Also I will accuse you collectively of being two-faced for feeling sorry for him now even though I don't know for a fact any of you were down on the guy during the tabloid attacks and court cases! I'm so much better than all of you!
There, there, let it all out. It is okay to vent the frustrations. And no, that is not the mighty attitude coming from me - I understand your view completely, because that is how I feel when I read Paul Eres's posts and those of certain other individuals that fortunately don't match the frequency. A pop star died, waaah, the public of course is going to be mourning. There are many trolls as well, such as the one posting a pedobear on Digg and getting numerous diggs for it. People are afraid to voice their differing opinion, so whenever one crops up, they digg it up. I'm not that pretentious. I just voice my thoughts and that's it for my part. Michael Jackson was OK, he genuinely helped the children, however he too got sucked into the blackhole that we call "popular culture", which warps every person into walking mess of plastic and drugs with deeds to at least ten villas. He was a human, too, the part of him that I genuinely care about. Why doesn't anyone else? The fans just want the part they adored - the part that kept them entertained. I am an empath, see, I feel, like you may have noticed in the Iran thread. Right now I feel your frustration, but it will go over. You can request a brief ban for me if that would make you feel better - I don't mind it at all, I could do with a break - but don't tell me not to voice my opinion. It goes both ways, you see. So. Who knows Michael Jackson as a human? Those should mourn, everyone else is just jumping onto the bandwagon of entertainment.

At least I'm not a pretentious cock. But you're right, if this doesn't concern me, I shouldn't meddle. I shall beat a hasty retreat, lest wrath of wailing fans begets me.
