But in the serial killer roguelike, you could kill everyone, not just women.

Everyone. Including infants.  Evil

@pompom (I'm going to hell for this, am I not?):

So anything that even remotely or indirectly references rape is not OK in video games? The video games full of violence and other amoralities that wouldn't be tolerated in the real life at all.

What are we arguing about, again? The use of common phrase, which happens to also be used as an anti-rape slogan, in a video game?

While killing people in AAA titles is absolutely fine? Oh, this remind me - most obscenities were censored in an AAA FPS title because they were politically incorrect, but the killing and stuff remained.

Not only that, take Zelda, the classic game that is recommended to little kids, encourages breaking into people's homes, trashing furniture and taking valuables.

Oh, I can't compare rape to stealing? Is rape worse than murdering a person in cold blood, too? For that matter. why are sex games banned almost everywhere, but we have murder simulation everywhere?

Not only that, the indie scene is full of games that could be described as "reckless disregard for feelings". Parodies, satires, you name it - there is some weird stuff out there.

And you are arguing the use of a common phrase in video game.  Lips Sealed Look, there are many more phrases that I consider much more offensive yet they're liberally thrown around.

I'll be merciful and not list them.

What is with the "pole up the behind" attitude, PompiPompi? Why do you have to be condescending? It kinda rubs people the wrong way, you know. It is typical for feminist activits who believe they're above everyone else.

Anyway. How do you know what the game developer meant when he used the "No means no" phrase? Why do you automatically assume he meant it in derogatory context? Why do these people try to find offense in every statement and make people look bad?

This, too, is abuse, if you haven't realized it yet.

What now? Will you ask tv child shows to censor those words as well? Will you raid libraries and have the books containing those phrases burned? What next, will you have Google censor the phrase as well because it might be harmful to poor date rape victims?

Disclaimer: I'm not degrading rape victims. In fact, I believe that it is quite tasteless to take advantage of people who've been taken advantage of.

Depends. If I want to show off to a hot chick, I'd do back flips. If there is no one to see me, front flips.

Are you making a game or procrastinating on the forum?

Do gifts I bought myself count?

If not... well... chocolate. Damn you, mom, I'm not a kid anymore!

Not.

If sheep could be ginger, blonde or brunette, which ones would you shear?
329  Player / General / Re: AaAaAA!!! – A Reckless Disregard for Feelings on: December 28, 2010, 11:56:09 PM
The problem is that I don't relate the "No means no" phrase to rape and sexual abuse, but cookie jars and shiny toys in shop windows. That phrase was part of my upbringing.

Now it is monopolized by those feminists. What the hell? They're the type that argue about trivialities and that is not the type of woman I'd share my life with, let alone sexually abuse. So they have nothing to worry about on that matter, at least from my side. Can they please stop ruining my childhood memories now?  Concerned

 Angry seems closer to offended in my opinion.

Or maybe  Apoplectic

And it *should* be like this, if there was any common sense in them thick... um... skulls: Shrug

But all they do is  Mock Anger at every slightest fault. Meh. This is why we can't have nice things!

Wait, let me see if I got this right... "No means no" phrase is reserved for feminists and sexual harrasment rape victims solely?

Just what the hell was my mom thinking when she shouted the phrase every time I wanted something cool?  Undecided

Being indie means being independent of PhatProfitTM corporations dictating HOW and WHEN you develop your games. And yes, half of us here are sellouts.  GentlemanHand Money Right

Finally fixed the bug that's been holding up my Unity project. After eight and a bit hours of debugging, the fix turned out to be this:

Code:
// IMPORTANT - Do not delete these next two lines, they hack around the bug where colliders
 // become detached
 newObj.AddComponent(Rigidbody);
 newObj.Destroy(newObj.rigidbody);

I am absolutely not joking.

If there are any novice programmers reading this I have some advice for you: If encountering something like this causes you to freak out, that's fine. But when you're done you need to freak back in again and get on with coding.

fuck with human psychology with skinnr-ian tchniqus to mak beliv they hav fun

I hear emergent gameplay is supposed to be good for this except it doesn't exist.
How it doesn't exist? Give the man some colored blocks without telling him what to do with them and watch him invent a game.
