I love comic books but I can rarely get them because the only comic book shop we have here is the grocery store which just gets the marvel adventures 3in1 every month
I just get all my comic books from the library.

The only comic book on your list I've heard of is The Walking Dead. lol I do want to start getting some X-Men Essentials though.
I have mostly small european-only comics/series. I don't like all these american comics that much (except X-Men and walking dead, just too cool!). We have a really awesome store here in Berlin called "Grober Unfug" (means gross mischief or somewhat) filled with great little independent comics from all over the world. Much better that super heroes . Hehe X-Men and The Walking Dead are awesome. I'll give you that. Oh and I can't believe I forgot to mention how much I love Astonishing X-Men. I received Volume 4 today. Hell yes!!! So, you got more european comic book recommendations? I think the best American superhero serial right now (ever??) is Invincible...it's kind of like how you remember superhero comics being but they were never actually that good (and by the author of The Walking Dead!) My other fav American superhero serial is Powers (superhero detective noir??), though the last trade was a little over the top. Ex Machina (superhero political thriller??) is frequently quite awesome as well.
Aside from that stuff, the best books I've read in the last couple years though were probably The Rabbi's Cat and Persepolis; they're not super new but didn't have an american print until pretty recently.
<3 comics...to me they stand up boldly and handsomely next to theatre, film, and video games as the only "complete" art forms; rather, the art forms that successfully and blissfully merge art and language.
I could not agree more. And Invincible is pretty great. (I'm a Robert Kirkman fan of course) I've only read Volume 1 and I can't say I'm in love with the series yet but I can already tell that it should be the kind of teenager/high school student comic book series I'd like to read and I should be receiving Volume 2 anyday now. I read a lot of comics but I'm not very good at keeping favourites so I don't have a list or anything.
But I'll be checking some of these out.
Sweet. Also, think about checking out Batman Lovers & Madmen (My personal favorite The Joker Vs Batman story), Immortal Iron Fist and New Avengers which are my other favorite comic books that I forgot to mention. Comics! Also there needs to be more Bone love.

Fables Y: The Last Man Battle Chasers DMZ Steampunk Xenozoic Tales
Is manga okay? I mean, it's not like MANGA-manga.
Battle Angel Alita Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind Akira Dororo
If it's not okay, please delete my account, please.
The only manga I've read is Samurai Executioner Volume 1 (which is not MANGA-manga thus awesome. hehe) I do have interest in Battle Angel Alita though. I want to watch all of the anime and read all of the manga before James Cameron's live action movie comes out.

Why the hell do crabs throw rocks? In every friggin' game that contains crab enemies they fling rocks! I want to strangle the guy who first used rock-lobbing crabs. In Sonic they shot Fireballs. Just sayin... Well they were robots and Sonic is just plain awesome so it doesn't matter. lol

The Settlers, Prince of Persia, Super Mario Land 2, Link's Awakening. Those were like my first games and I guess they are the most nostalgic to me.
GREAT call on Super Mario Land 2! I consider that the absolute best Mario game and my second favorite underrated game (Contra Hard Corps is first of course)

well i got curious what games people get nostalgic over. i personally got a soft spot for rayman 2 because it was the the first "real" game i played. come on, express yourself!
Sonic The Hedgehog. My entire family used to play that and it's the game that introduced me to my favorite platformer franchise. I swear while playing Sonic The Hedgehog again about a year or two ago, I almost cried from just hearing the first levels' music. The nostalgia just REALLY got to me. heh

Well what kind of story are you looking for? RPGs are story-intensive but simple platformers like Super Mario Bros don't need an elaborate story to be fun, because the emphasis isn't on story but gameplay. Sometimes it's even more fun to some players if there isn't a story- it allows your imagination to fill in the blanks and as a result you create your own unique experience.
Hey phubans. Well I think it would be nice if I could experience a good story through actually gameplay more often.

Someone told me that you could glitch your life counter in Mario 64 by collecting 1000 coins (since the coin counter only goes to 999). I danced around the third Bowser for what must have been hours.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I would like to suggest some of them:
Battle Pope Bone Cerebus the Aardvark Groo the Wanderer Sam & Max Scud the Disposable Assassin The Umbrella Academy Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk Watchmen
Thanks! I've been meaning to get Scud The Disposable Assassin. A good online friend of mine is a huge fan of the series and it looks great. I was thinking about ordering Frank Miller's Robocop today but I might get Scud instead. Hmmm....

Oh oh oh, how could I almost forgotten Batman: Hush?
I'm probably going to pick up Batman Hush from my library tomorrow. I had it on hold last week. Hush will be my very first Jim Lee and Nightwing comic. You'll enjoy it, it's one of the best batman comics out there. That's great to hear! I got Batman Hush today. I also got: DEATHSTROKE THE TERMINATOR!!!-I've been DYING to get this series! Nothing like my first villain book. 100 Bullets Volume 3- Just read Volume 2 last week which marked me finally getting back to reading comics after a year without them. Astonishing X-Men Gifted Volume 1- I've never actually had a X-Men comic before...Everyone seems to praise Astonishing, so I got it. Ultimate Spider-Man Volume 9 Ultimate Six- About time I got back into my favorite comic book series. The Ultimate Spider-Man series is incredible for escapism for me.

If you are a fan of shoot'em ups, you might know me from those forums already. Here's the breakdown: Matthew Doucette, of Canada, of Xona Games. Working on an upcoming dual play 2D shooter for the Xbox 360 called Duality: ZF: screenshots from: New Duality: ZF Screenshots http://xona.com/2009/03/31.htmlHere's our latest videos (currently outdated, but that should change soon): http://www.youtube.com/XonaGamesDual play is one player controlling two fighters at once. We support dual play in 4X multiplayer for eight fighters at once. Plus our weapon is a duality system... thus, Duality: ZF. The game should be out April 2009, but please do not make any life changes based on that and come back to blame us if we fail to make that date! So that's what I do, not so much who I am. Hope I didn't miss the point. So... greetings! Welcome Doucette! Duality looks pretty cool.
