FIST!!11  Well, hello there!

Jeez you guys! This is clearly about being a good eco-neighbour. You see the water collector is low, which indicates that the water canisters that supplies the shower and waters the veggies is low, so being a good neighbour you must use the door clap to alert your neighbour to this.

Posting here to show my deep commitment to and fanatical ambition towards this project. What is on the platter is sex and political incorrectness and very likely quite a bit of space (as interstellar space). It will be a great game and written in a language. It will probably revolutionise gaming as we know it.

Well, as long as you're tasteful about it, you shouldn't have much trouble. Child molestation is one of those subjects that can really get you in trouble nowadays

I totally agree. Treat your child molestation tastefully.

I'm still in the kitchen. Anyone got any cheat codes?

I went to the kitchen. Now what?
1087  Developer / Design / Re: Realistic platformer? on: June 28, 2009, 02:25:55 PM
The earliest platformer game I know taking human constraints into consideration is Ollie's Follies (1984) for the C64. It was the first game where you had to plan your movement as you ran and jumped since your avatar took stop steps and launch steps. This was before the first Prince of Persia game (1992), which did approximately the same but a bit slicker and prettier.

30 years ago, 353 children aged 7-15 fell into a coma in what has since been called the most devastating space-accident of all time.

Got a Haruki Murakami "Kafka on the Shore" thing going for ya here! The only thing that book lacked was giant mechas, and I'm looking to you to rectify that omission!

Speaking about Washington, what if you made the game about a boy that told his parents he thinks chainsaws are educational and they assrape him with chainsaws to teach him about life? That'd be educational and ultra-violent.  Noir

This IF needs an absolutely mainstream straight-sex dude that's considered an absolute perv and off-gander bloke by all the regular misfits that populates it. Noir

Humpstart First Grade?

This would be an excellent title to {re,de}make and combine with rhythm game mechanics, preferably Barry White or Isaac Hayes style music. Even more preferably with a sleazy commentator á la (Ron Jeremy)^6. Anyone that wants to team up for something like this?

I could see this being amazing if the music was in midi format.  I could certainly help with this if you want.

Sure, MIDI and rhythm and as sleazy as possible, and I'd be more likely to finish if with somebody...  BegHand Money Right

Great! I'm going to try to submit an entry to this compo! I was thinking to solo it, but I could relatively easily be cajoled into teaming up. If anyone wants to I'm wizard-level in C++, for 3D code OGRE and native Direct3D, and know my way around artsy apps too.

And yeah, this compo would be excellently combined with the infographics suggestion for a glorious triple whammy!

It's the worst thing ever to begin to plan "The Biggest Indie MMORPG - I just need a graphician and a coder".

Read in another board sometime ago, "Now recruiting! We're making a MMORPG [immense feature list, vague references to a 100 pages+ design document]. Open positions: 3D engine programmer. Network programmer. Framework programmer. 3D Artists x 3. Texture artists x 2", etc etc ad absurdum.

This is kind of a random question, but do we want particle effects to be made in pixel art, or do we want them to have additive (shiny) blending.

I'm going with the former option, for now, since I think that fits in better with the overall graphic design, but I'm curious if anyone else thinks otherwise.

You should really allow both as well as subtractive blending since they all produce very different impressions and lends to different effects. Subtractive is really suitable for smoke trails, additive for magic light effects, and pixel art particles for guns and whatnot. You might even consider combining them, f.i. an excellent flame-thrower fire cone in a pixelish game can be made by a pixel art flame under a soft additive effect and subtractive smoke.

I've got some really nifty ideas for an Arcade game compo, and I'd love to see what the other Tiggers would come up with!
