i really liked cave story. that said, this looks shitty. for one thing, there's not really any reason for it to be in 3d or 2.5d or anything. 2d graphics are nice sometimes and an AECH DEE thing might've given this a leg up over the last shitty remake. also, the art style is bland and generic. the concept art is nice, but it doesn't look like cave story, it looks like a bright coloured animu game.
oh golly im such a fanwank

i find a mix of giant boss fights and human sized bosses to be best. that said, a 1 on 1 DUEL OF THE FATES is always epic as fuck

Omega in zero 3 was incredibly epic, despite being a recolour, largely due to the plot twist, his badass boast, and the unbelievably kickass music.
also, i just beat contra: rebirth. every second of that game is high octane ridiculous awesomeness, as were many of the bosses.

im not speaking for anyone else, but i honestly just really love the way 2d sprites look. a part of that is definitely nostalgia, but its a small part at best. on top of that, its the medium i work best in. i love having total control over every pixel in the image.

@S0phieH Don't complain you need an artist/programmer, you are plenty capable. i strongly disagree with this. a lot. there are hundreds of artists out there looking for work, especially if you can pay them for it. having good graphics will make your game feel more finished and overall better, plus you will be helping out the pool of artists which are looking to get into game making.

Hmm Yellow said it would be a good idea if we kept records of some of the enemies we've faced. Personally, I don't see any problem with just thrashing them, but whatever keeps the little guy happy i guess. I suppose we may as well start at the bottom of the food chain. This tasty critter is called a Porpoid, they are small, there's lots of them, and they are weak as hell. Tender too. If it weren't for the modifications we received, these things would be giving us a beatdown if we so much as looked at them the wrong way, but apparently whoever kidnapped us has a sense of irony all of a sudden. Well, that's all folks, I'm getting someone else to do the next one.

imo both tron movies are masterpieces. the writing isn't stellar in either but the acting ranges from good to great and the concept, theme, and visual style are taken so far that it makes them both really fun, unique movies to watch.

there are a lot of games with the new game+ feature that can do it infinitely (megaman zero/zx series', some of the tales of games) but i've never heard of one that made it a central gameplay feature

I think the Burton Batmans are awful. Sure, they look good compared to the Schumacher films (particularly the-film-that-shall-not-be-named), but they're fairly awful on their own merits. The first one always freaks me out because the Joker is pretty much the good guy, despite being a freaky psychopath. At least he did something, unlike Keaton's Batman, who acted like a weird humourless robot the whole time.
this so much. i liked keaton as bruce wayne, but he was a terrible batman. on top of that, jack nicholson wasn't very scary and it overall had a weird feeling, like it was trying to be a dark serious movie but wasn't willing to let go of the comic book goofiness like the nolan movies.
