Woah dude, awesome tunes!!

I second Bauers comments. Also, that second tune, the guitar riffing sounds real! Is it or is it that new amazing guitar VST? Pretty impressive either way mate. Rocking tunes. Really really good.

328  Feedback / Playtesting / Re: Super Crate Box on: May 24, 2010, 01:47:30 AM
I've played it a lot more, and I take back my comment on the sound effects from before. It was only a few of them that seemed harsh, such as the entrance of the red critter from the top, the siren like noise. Aside from that the game is far too addictive to even consider this a negative feature at all.

I can't honestly see anything i'd want to be different about it. Maybe instead of some of the crates having weapons, you keep your weapon, but gain a different ability, fast running, half the size, as big as the big guys for a couple of seconds, or something, I am sure the TIG force and yourself can think of actual good ideas on that front. But yeah that's just an idea of addition onto what you have, it's already great, i kinda wish i had it on my ipod!

330  Developer / Tutorials / Re: Game music for beginners (with Reaper) on: May 23, 2010, 01:18:41 AM
Bump for justice.

I don't use Reaper, but I read through this is and felt a lot of similarities with it's design in Cubase, or vice versa. Besides that, the tutorial is brilliant, and very useful for anyboth starting out so I felt it shouldn't slide down the page, hopefully this will give it some more much needed attention. Great job man.

I can't seem to get it to play longer than 3 seconds on your page Sad is this some form of audio tease? I do not want to be teased Cry

Awesome, how did you get such a nice brass sound on that first iphone tune? What VSTs more precisely.
336  Player / General / Re: Derek Yu needs to learn the definition of "passive aggressive"... on: May 15, 2010, 01:47:37 AM
It's been well over 5 months. Get over yourself already.

It's a little bit sad that this discussion is actually being brought back from the dead from so long ago. Words, criticism, feedback, hell hatred.. it won't kill you, broadsword wielding maniacs. They will kill you.

So get on with it like the rest of the indie community! Don't turn comments into something negative, find the positive in it and use that to further your understanding and motivate you to keep going, don't stop dead in your tracks and complain about this for ages. Gets you nowhere, and actually promotes time travel to other planets, where there's no oxygen.. now why would you want to do that eh?
337  Developer / Audio / Re: Iji OST Remake #1 (Piano Preview) on: May 14, 2010, 05:18:35 AM
Yeah, I agree! Actually that's what I was trying to suggest in the last post, but I wasn't really sure how to say it. Glad we're on the same wavelength Smiley a combination of both would work well for contrasting the same theme in various ways as well. Thanks!
338  Developer / Audio / Re: Iji OST Remake #1 (Piano Preview) on: May 14, 2010, 02:29:00 AM
Thank you for the kind words guys! We appreciate it! In talking with Miss Laura Shigihara briefly about the sound of that preview, I realised how much I want to attempt something not quite acoustic, but possibly orchestrated, with influences from Joe Hisaishi, who as you know composes the music for all the Miyazaki films.

Spirited Away is a personal favourite, but there are many other great ones. I'm sure you have your own favourite if you know who I am blabbing about. He's a great film maker, and Mr. Hisaishi writes beautifully orchestrated music.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1ni1sVCgEk Mr. Hisaishi playing live a theme from Spirited Away. It'll go one of two ways, orchestrated or drawn back acoustic line up. What you guys think?

Game looks awesome, can't wait to see (and hear) it!
340  Feedback / Playtesting / Re: Super Crate Box on: May 11, 2010, 02:41:52 PM
I really like this game. However I only play it muted, due to the sound effects being a bit too harsh.

If you want, I can make up a SFX pack for you. You can try it out, say what works what doesn't etc.. I think it would make the gameplay a lot more enjoyable if the sound of the gun wasn't so rough sounding.

Other than that, pretty good feedback has been given there and I really look forward to playing the crap out of this game tomorrow.
