Wow, really didn't have much of an idea on how much people appreciate the Iji OST, as primitive the production on it was. Thanks those who mentioned it in such high regard ya made mah eye go all wonky! IJI! (kidding) MegaMan X (My number one OST forever, I am obsessed with that game, defined my awesome childhood) Cave Story (defined my awesome,.. er, well, 2nd year in UNI [i.e. last year]) Street Fighter (50/50) (crap at it, but god damnit when some of the themes in that baby hit in, I freaked hard) Final Fantasy 7/8 (though I think a lot of people enjoy those, I think 8 was my even bigger favourite though, but that's just to separate them apar.. continuing on..) Turrican. Especially after watching it orchestrated and performed live. It's a weird one, one that I don't know if it fully fits the game, but when I hear it I know its Turrican. That's something I find quite important to achieving an OST that reverberates in your head for a long time, the context is right, the match with Turrican, maybe not as right, but really, not so wrong either. Tis an opinionated matter though! I hope to get that one day. Mario Kart, just.. brilliant. Frickin brilliant. Any Zelda game. And the Metal Gear OSTs, I had the first one on purchased CD, i spent my weeks wages on it! Those were ______ times.. (good, bad, sad, all applicable words for the blank) Ignore after this line! _______________________ <rant> What I want to start seeing is best storylines, I feel that a beautiful blend of game visuals, gamePLAY (more important than the previous IM [uneducated] O) and focused music scoring, can make something really powerful. The Metal Gear stories have shown that to a, well.. insane degree, but it's not like it's not achievable. I do think storylines in games could have a bit more conviction though. </rant>

This is why I think you should take a compulsory IQ test before being allowed to access the world.
Fixed. And agreeing on all these points, of course Cept that Professor guy. Jeeze, i'd be bummed if a mighty professor of zooming or zoomology or .. whateverology tried to shoot me down. Yes. I'dddd be bummed out alright... EDIT: since I am being paid for doing music now, (WOOT) I am actually putting a lot more cash into buying up indie games and donation-ware for the deserved price, and I WILL be buying this fantastic game, after finishing Noitu Love 2 (alas I can't play too many games or I'll forget to finish the Uni degree, stupid degr.. anyway!) Furthermore, the people who say those negative things, are not part of the indie game community, and are a small minority of XBOX Live 13 year olds. So fear not, and so on.

Dan & I aren't heavy metal fanatics, but we love producing that sound with soundtrack work The old muddy sound of iji is long gone, so this track will be heavy with guitars yes, but mixed accordingly and respectively. Thanks for your input guys, the support is appreciated and extend back unto you all.

Double post but with purpose. As I have been extremely busy with contracted work, I've not had time to work on this in a few months, so this is a rather old version of the track, the newer one is nearly done and sounds very different, a lot more polished, and once I get the time, Dan will be laying down some nice guitar work on them as well. The medley made me smile, since this is a medley of some of the Iji OST. It's just a preview, but don't be too harsh on judging tis just a rough-rough draft. More to come! http://www.hyperduck.co.uk/Iji_Medley_Draft_-_Tor_&_More_1.mp3

That first tune, is class. But turn the velocity of the bass drum way down, the limiter is freaking out and bringing your entire track down each time the bass drum hits. Like a dance track made for a dance club. Not taking the piss that is literally what they do, it's a brick wall limiting method used to make that meaty dance bass kick sound.
I am going to listen to more of your stuff after my flight but that is kick ass stuff. I hope you find a great project here.
PS: just had to listen to the next tune, also awesome.

Just curious, did you record those piano pieces from an acoustic piano? Like with a microphone as opposed to Midi.
Couldn't tell for a bit in the full piece, but the fast ones it seemed clear. Sounds good quality too! Nice work.
