there's nothing wrong with it per se, but it's a deficiency. it's a flaw in a person when they can't enjoy something they do for fun. it's not just some magical arbitrary thing whether you enjoy something or not, you have control over it to a degree, how you approach something affects how much you'll enjoy it. enjoying games is a skill that can be developed, it's not something that just happens

I've never gotten the whole "acquired taste" thing anyways.  If you are doing something primarily for enjoyment, why would you want to retrain yourself to enjoy something you don't like?

But beyond that, I flat-out disagree.  I played quite a bit of that game, and even after I wasn't enjoying it, I pushed it to see if maybe I'd learn something or something would click.  When it didn't, I moved on.  No harm to the people who do enjoy the game.  If I had to review it, I don't think I would give it a damning review.  But I didn't enjoy it and I have a ton of other free and paid games to play so I moved on.  I'm quite certain that more time spent would have made me like it more, as I understood all the play mechanics and wasn't particularly bad at the game (I have disliked games because I didn't know how to play them before, not the same thing).  Also, I'd like to point out that I approached Iji expecting to love it (I actually like Flashback and I like actioney platformers, so I assumed I'd like the mix), and even in the early, less-actioney parts I was looking forward to those upcoming big battle bits.
