1  Developer / Technical / Re: Which iteration/version of Linux is the best? on: May 24, 2013, 03:24:35 PM
I decided against arch-linux pretty much only because it was completely text based (not that there's anything wrong with text based OSes, its just not exactly what I would call n00b friendly...

There's Manjaro which is a derivative of Arch complete with hardware detection and GUI everything. Arch wasn't always a completely manual install, though there was always configuring involved. It was fun when I had a bunch of free time, but I just need my machines to do work now. I tossed Manjaro on it and haven't worried about anything like that at all.

Edit: Here's a link to Manjaro: http://manjaro.org/

It's not really about video games, but there's that documentary "Man on a Mission" on Richard Garriot going into space. Last I checked it was on Netflix.

"Riot On!"

Aw, man, I actually forgot about Riot On. That was a pretty fun watch.

All this dot com boom stuff reminds me of that mocumentary Dot which is pretty dumb, but yeah.

Prolly like 4 hours a week when I'm actually working on something. I dunno. Video game development is more a fun distraction for me more so than anything. Maybe I'll set a more concrete goal/plan soon.

You Meet the Nicest People Making Video Games is something that I'm sorta waiting on? His main Kickstarted did not get funded, but he did another one for 2-3k in 2011 that did. As far as I know he's still doing work on it.

Yeah, that's what I mean I think. Basically, I'm concerned with losing all purchases if my hardware crapped out or whatever. Maybe that issue's addressed somewhere though I dunno.

French Kicks' album Swimming. A song came up from it in shuffle, and I've just been listening to the album non-stop again.

Man, honestly, I'd be buying more on the eShop, but I've heard purchases are tied to the hardware, and not an account, so screw that.

Be careful guys, I buy games on your recommendation. Sarcasm without an accompanying caution could doom an innocent soul to spend $20 on a digital dead-end.

Sorry, didn't see this earlier. I think the sale might be over, but I genuinely like the game quite a bit. Really not much to say about it though. Watch any review/gameplay footage of it. What you see is what you get in this case.

Yeah, none of this was very appealing. The progression sort of makes sense though considering most of the people on my 360 friends list are on Netflix. TV and sports viewing integration seems like a solid next step.

New CoD is going to be emotionally investing. That dog is going to die isn't it Sad

So it looks like BestBuy and Amazon are having a little sale on 3ds games.

I couldn't really find a comprehensive list, but most notably I guess are:
Mario 3D Land for $30
Mario Kart 7 for $30
Fire Emblem for $30
Zelda: OOT for $30
Castlevania for $25
Paper Mario for $25
and best of all Style Savvy: Trendsetters for $20

Edit: Best Buy list
