Don't worry, You don't need to do anything for my game. My vision is establshed, but if you have some ideas you are welcome to post in my thread, can never hurt. I just wanted to give you a hint how to possibly expand your ideas.
I am currently working with xna, btw. In case, what one would get from the project is a lot of joy, and once it is out a lot of fame and money because this game cannot be overrated;)

Uhhh, you made a bad decision. The problem is that 2.1 is outdated opengl. Time is moving away from it. Today things are made differently (less fixed pipeline, more shaders). If you see "glBegin" then run! You should get the opengl super bible 5th edition. It entirely focuses on the core profile (3.3). For shader programming I would recommend the orange book. The red book is mixing old with new opengl, so it can teach you some bad habits. These 2 books are literally the only ones that teach you modern opengl.

Cool, thanks. It would surely be fun watching how you guys approach the game:)
Btw. Have you heard of any consequence which might occur once Nintendo discovers it? I am considering to delete some of the stuff when the game goes to release.
The actual game will have original music, of course.

Yes we can roughly divide games in matured and not matured games. A friend of mine is the best proof for that. All of marios, typical jump and runs, console-games like Gears and Uncharteds are low points for him. He wants to dive into simulations like C&C or something with a serious story and presentation and a deep world waiting to be explored.
There are only few games capturing his interest. Some of them are: Baldur's Gate Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl (enjoys the atmosphere) Rom - Total War Deus Ex (not the new one because it has wanna-be-cool stuff in it, less authentic options)
Those games obviously address the player in a matured way. Just put Uncharted next to it and you might get why it is a child's toy.
Btw. my game is good for children.

I played rage recently. They are a bit too late with that type of game. Looks like the time for id is over unless they finally stop to stick to their primitive game-design.
