Modified Trailer. The font is messed up and squished when I render (I don't know why), but pretend that it's actually not like that (I'll fix it later).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEZJ0d1q0CA

That's much better regardless of the squished font :D

the only comment is that the words like Explore and Fight comes after the action happen
I think it would be better if Explore appear then after it completely appear the transition of the scenes happened.
Also for fight I think the same the player don't hit the enemy until the word fight completely appear.
The last sentence about discover land of dreams fades quickly and I think its better to make the scenes in it more weird like the one he is falling in the portal I like it, if u have another weird scenes like that will be nicer than just moving Smiley
Also the scene while climbing the long tower I didn't like when he stops in the middle.

But overall that's really a nice trailer I like it Smiley

So you can pre-order the game now at www.anodynegame.com for $7. This is less than the release sale whih will be $8 and even less than the no-sale-price, which will be $10.

ALSO I'm looking for criticism on my current draft of the release trailer:

It's unlisted so please don't share it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RF9S8ARs7M

My intent was to keep energy in the video and convey that you will be exploring and fighting in a varied dream world of a character, with some elements of mystery floating around...

First I just preordered the game :D yaaaaay :D (btw its my first game to preorder it, I never preorder games :D hehehe)

Second thing about the trailer its nice but I think the first part before the word explore is long I think its better to be shorter just showing things before getting in the world

The the part of explore I think it would be better to be also shorter or you better to add more words in it like (Explore then Solve (for puzzles) then fight and Keep Alive and etc...)

I didn't like the talking dialogue parts in the middle of the trailer I think making it confusing as I want to read the text but it moves fast Smiley

But overall its a nice trailer as it is but the points I am talking about will make it better Smiley

I will probably open pre-orders on January 1st.

The game will be available for $7 through the website, and you can pre-order the OST for $3 :D

I opened the site and didn't find the pre-order button Cry

Hope everything is ok with you :D Can't wait :D YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY :D

That's nice I hope sales are quite higher than my commercial shoot'em up game (Clean'Em Up) Hope sales go higher as its an amazing game Smiley

Hi - Clean'Em Up looks really nice, but I know there are a lot of other pretty 2D shooters.  I wonder if that's the main reason you're struggling?

Yup the main reason that people judge the game as another 2D shooter without even trying the demo (the game is different in lot of ways that traditional 2D shooters) but when they saw neon graphics and explosions they thought its just a rip off Geometry wars Sad

Phew!  It's been a busy couple of days with the Megamort expansion out, as I've been promoting it nearly as hard as the original game launch.  But I think it's been worth it - there's a renewed interest in the game and my direct sales (at least) are higher than they've been for months.

I also think the price drop was a good move.  In recent years indie gamers seem to have become quite price sensitive, so it's probably correct to set prices in line with consumer expectations in most cases.  That means it doesn't matter what you think your game is worth, and it certainly doesn't matter how much it cost to develop or how many copies you expect to sell.  What matters is that the price roughly matches competing games of a similar size and quality so that consumers don't have to think too hard about the money.  In my case that means Steam indie games at around £6.99 / $9.99.  But I suspect this rule works just as well if you're selling the latest Call of Duty.

Both gamers and the media are also quite conscious of what they're getting (i.e. expected hours of entertainment) for their money and they love getting something for nothing (like a free expansion).

That's nice I hope sales are quite higher than my commercial shoot'em up game (Clean'Em Up) Hope sales go higher as its an amazing game Smiley

Enemy Concept Art Round 1

Which ones do you like, and which ones do you hate?

These are just a bunch of quick enemies I drew, so not all of them will be in the game.  I'm going to choose the ones that you guys like, and some of my favourites to put in the game.  The rest will be re-done or just scraped.  I'll probably do this a few times.

WooooooooW they look incredible I like them all may be the sphere thing and the one before not as cool as the others but all of them are nice Smiley

I am from Argentina, the problem is similar as in Egypt, here the currency is very devaluated and therefore the prices spike when it comes to Technology, especially iDevices, because they are imported (there we have customs, and shipping included), so yeah only rich or wealthy people have easy access to them.

Example; Common salary here is about $3000-5000 Ars (pesos), and 1 USD = 4.7 ARS. An iPad 3 here is ~3500 ARS, bought on eBay and paying the required taxes and customs, if you buy it on a local store you have to pay much, much more!

Nice to meet talented people from Argentina Smiley by the way the iPhone is much cheaper at your country than mine according to ur example
here the common salary is about 1500 - 2500 EGP (Egyptian Pound) and 1 USD = 6.6 EGP and an iPad 3 here is starting from 4500 EGP Sad which is very expensive Sad

I am so sad that your indieGoGo campaign isnot running good, Hope I can support you but I am broken Sad So forgive me Sad I tried to spread the word around twitter but seems that non replied or checked it Sad

Hope you can make that nice game Smiley and consider me buying it when it finished (as soon as I have money) Smiley

woooow lots of amazing updates since last time I visit Smiley the game gets cooler day after day and I get impatient about it Smiley SO FINISH IT FAST :D

And if you have an indiedb, throwing us a 10 and voting us for indie of the year would be rad, too: http://www.indiedb.com/games/anodyne

Voted for it for sure Wink and a 10 is defiantly less than what I wanted to give it as this game in my view deserve 100 out of 10 :D

been working on a boss song...it's not supposed to be too intense, but maybe this gets too intense? it's only for part and it will reduce in intensity

http://tindeck.com/listen/ariw

mmmm.... I think its intense and looks like its a happy track for a boss fight, I don't feel it will fit good but may be in action have different feeling than that Smiley
