My Oshawott/Dewott evolved into Samurott last night.
Couldn't sleep, so I played Pokemanz all night.
EDIT: Just beat the Elite Four.

I am a sophomore in high school. I may be a bit early when you guys talk about 'starry-eyed high school kids'. For me, the jump was in 6th grade. I loved games, and then I was like, "Yo dawg, level 3's graphics suck, let me tune them up a bit", and was so indulged in working with companies like Capcom. 7th grade, nothing special happened. Just another day in the life. 8th grade rolls around, I finally start. I googled, 'Game Maker', no idea that there was a program of the same name, found it, downloaded it, installed, the whole shabang.
30 minutes later I was like, "DAD NOWAI LOOK LOOK LOOK WHAT I MADE". Although I got my lift-off from games, that year may have been the worst of my life. I got so distracted with pr0nz and I wish I wouldn't have. Not only would I keep my innocence, but I would be a much better developer. My computer ended up crashing because I was using IE.
Freshman year comes by. Meh. Nothing special here.. First year of high school was such a bore. I had to transfer about March because my family could no longer afford tuition. I was enrolled in an online school, which I still attend. Since I was spending so much time home alone, I might as well start a hobby. I installed Game Maker once again, activated to Pro, and was tuning up the graphics on level 3 in no time. Of course, I didn't know much, as a very naive rookie a year ago, I still retained my naivete. I was astonished at how quick I picked up on things I never learned well enough... Arrays, data structures, depth handling, ... It was basically enough to get me where I am today.
A year later brings us to today. I'm doing what I love- tuning up the graphics on level 3 I swear that'llbe the last time I make that joke.... My dreams have changed considerably in the last four years. No longer do I want to be restricted by the industry, as I once thought, like the character in the video. I want to be independent, and do this for a living. I love game design.

I think GM is decent. I use it myself. No where near industry standard, not even sub-industry standard. Barely sub-sub-industry standard, if that. It depends on who is behind the wheel.
Many people have the misconception that GM is utter crap, mostly due to the audience and the terrible games that young'ins make, you know, with the geepegs and what not.

How much do you have? Do you want more? Do you spend a lot of money? On what? Are you tight-fisted with your money? Or do you give it up easily for a friend? Are you working? Where? Do you like it? Is it worth the pay you receive? Do you have a budget? How well is it working for you? Have you used Kickstarter before? What's your ideal life? How has college improved your money situation, if at all? Why didn't you go to college? Does it matter? What awesome free tools do you use? Do you have any software you've spent a lot of money on?
I'm 15, a sophomore in high school, so money doesn't need to be spent on expenses. I'll be buying gas + insurance soon, though. D: -Currently, I have none. I want more. -I spend a decent amount of money, mostly on clothes/trivial stuff I want. Most recently, Pokemon White. -I loan out my money quite a bit. I always get paid back. -Not working, getting allowance from my parents. -No budget. -WTH is Kickstarter? -My ideal life... I work as an indie developer getting paid to do what I love, potentially with who I love. -Not in college yet. -Not old enough, but I plan on taking some college courses next year. -I love SFXr, OpenMPT, GIMP, Anim8or, Blender, UV mapper classic, Inkscape, paint.net, etc. The most I've spent on software is $25 for GM. You're 19 and you have a fiance? Nice.

I don't know. Should I or shouldn't I open an indie arcade sometime in life? The plans of high score contests, a high score network thing (with a kiosk to check them), and even monthly auctions to the least played machine sound pretty good, but will it be profitable in the twenty-first century?
Dude, yes. I would love something like that.. A place to play classic indie games on arcade machines. Imagine playing Spelunky in an arcade. I think my head just exploded. That would be successful to me.

One of my favourite souvenirs from Japan He's about 8 inches tall, and the guitar is a separate piece with a stand The backdrop is actually the box it came in, it unfolds into the cafe Ohh... Man... I love it so much. Can I have it if you die? I'm hiring a hitman right now.

I think economies would be better off giving some value behind their money instead of just flat paper. It would also help stop some counterfeiting. Ahh well.
That video is shocking. I am so blessed to live in America.
