The ears looks like fingers constantly doing the "come closer" symbol.
That, or they are oddly top-heavy and super-springy.

This week we spent a lot of time making gas giants come to life w flowing bands of gassy awesomeness:
I misread that as "glowing" (since the image kinda looks like it is). Would be a pretty neat effect if used sparingly, don't you think?

I like the bungee-ness of it. Could be an interesting mechanic - the longer you fall, the stronger the bounce.

I think limiting yourself to "simple" stuff like blinking lights could keep it from becoming excessively much work but still add a lot of flavour.

I like how empty space looks... but have you thought of making it even emptier?
Great find, really makes you appreciate the vastness of space. I might have a play with scale once I get the main game down as things start to look a little squished when you zoom right out.
If you make the game to scale (while designing the UI in such a way that this is not a problem) then every astronomer everywhere will love you forever.

I agree with the sentiment that lowpoly is the next pixel art for indie games in the coming year or 4. I've been inspired by this thread at polycount for YEARS, so this has been a long time coming for me personally.
Having said that, you make flatshading look good

Currently working on this run cycle. The arms are still being worked on, but I think the legs have finally started to take proper shape.
Yeah, it "feels" better than what I remember from before. Have you tried it out while actually moving the character? Anyway, glad to see you posting again, love your minimalism.
