i had some difficulty with the clicking on the borders, and got it as close as i could without there being this one bug that i couldn't find a way around where the player could click just outside of the playfield and avoid everything for a fairly infinite amount of time. like i said, i won't be updating it past the point it's at right now unless something truly gamebreaking comes up. i've already moved on to a much larger project :]

a bunch of other folks have beaten at least two to three bosses on the scoreboards, so i'd say just keep at it in that respect.

hey guys, thank you for the kind words and suggestions :] i won't be updating DDDDX at this point unless something serious comes up, since i do want to move on, hahaha

-Do purple gems appear randomly? Are combos just about getting gems as quickly as possible?

they appear about every 15 seconds or so (provided yellow gems are on the playfield), and the combos are about getting gems as quickly as possible, yup indeedy. you can see that the more gems you get, the higher your multiplier above the player (it drops as you don't get any), and the higher the combo, the more OKAY! signs are lit in the background. hopefully that helps! :]

regarding the "legality" of the soundtrack - the soundtrack itself is entirely unlicensed (as is everything about the game), and it's distributed as a DJ mix, which are, in the electronic music scene, seen as 100% acceptable. legality is another thing, but artists and labels are very keen on letting DJ mixes fly :]

thanks!
