it's not really the school districts fault
they just get money from the state
and when the state cuts their budget by several million
the district is up shit creek
No, the district makes a budget. Then they receive the money based on that budget. It's their fault for making that shitty budget.

the teachers in my school district are on strike, and it's all because they want more money which the district doesn't even have. Oh, they have it. They just don't want to admit it. No. They really, really don't. Then that district (and who is in charge) sucks in budget. Epic fail

Ok, i get it. I was confusing about your "pun" hahaha. I'm glad it was explained . Also i was doubtful about the saturation, if i need to put more in darker colors or not.... Thanks for explain it to me. Now i think i can get a better palette...and use less colors hahaha. Next time, i will try to make some designs.

Your first few pieces have great perspective and design. The straight on perspective of the alien is kind of boring and it feels very flat even with the shading. The dithering doesn't add much except a weird gradient. You can ditch the dithering and use the space to give the suit some actual form besides cylinders. I think practicing design(the actual form and perspective of the pieces) and color selection is more important at this stage in your pixel art than dithering, AA, and fine details.
I'm pretty new to pixel art myself but this is what I've picked up from practice and getting feedback around these parts. I hope it helps. But yeah, great start so far. Keep it up.
Thanks for the feedback, Seasons. You are right about the design. Practicing details, shapes and perspectives will let me become more flexible with my sprites. So next time i will try to imagine something and putting changes in it. About the dithering, i was thinking that is useful in some flat and non-detailed spaces to give them a shape, and to tell you true, i wanted to give the alien suit that cylindrical form, but i see it doesn't work. Even more, today was my first attempt on that, so i'm not good with it yet. And i don't get about "ditch the dithering". Is about a mix between different dithering styles? And in color selection, i have noticed the poor contrast in some of them, so i'm trying to get better in that. Playing with the hue, saturation and value, right? And never with a high saturation, except when needed. And thanks for the encourage

It sucks that the pack of fake mustaches I bought have shitty adhesive and only work once (maybe twice) before falling apart.
AWWWW MAN i know how that is i just bought a pack of fake moustaches and used them only once. what a rip off. it's the worst... especially when you're relying on it. Those moustaches are made for business...that's remind me a documental that a friend share with me. It's really long btw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1xt4nEvipg

nobody listen to you (or give a fuck what are you telling).
Dump them Can i dump everybody here in TIGSource? Of course not In that case, take a deep breath, let go of the anxiety, and realize that people read things even if they don't take the time to write a response. Oh, did that hurt you? Sorry man. That last thing that i wrote here was a joke. Of course i can't dump no one here. After all, all of you have change my choose of live. To a game developer's life. Hugs to all of you! Now let's change the page and i will say another "Things that suck": My internet has been slow these days. I can't see videos freely. I have to wait...

Thanks Destral. I was thinking the same, but i was asking myself if that way will look better . Okay, today i made something very simple: a cup of coffee. But this time with dithering, and practicing the palette color map. Be the judges. Thanks.

i know that -- but the board defended him for a long time until they were finally forced to hold a special vote to see if he should be removed; he retired rather than waiting for the outcome of that vote. he also kept suing people about the word edge even after he left the igda, until EA finally won a case against him
Yeah, They were forced by the same members of IGDA (for what i read) and Langdell left because he already knew the outcome. And finally they stop him to do something really unethical. Clever, but unethical. Well deserved. Anyway, i expect the creation of the IGDA chapter. That way we can create more meetups where i live, because here...i can count it with only 5 fingers or less.

tim langdell was on the board of directors of the igda. when he started suing indie game developers frivolously over the use of the term "edge" in their games (even though he had not released a game in 20 years and just made money through suing anyone who uses the word edge in their games) the igda defended him (just search this forum for igda or tim langdell for the full story). that's reason enough for me not to join
i have heard some good things about them too regarding local meetups etc. but you can get the same things without them
But what i know is that Tim Langdell was removed from the IGDA board in 2009 and his membership was terminated in 2010...and he now doesn't owns the "edge" word. Google it and you will see. And in my case...well...i'm too far from all the meetups and exists a plan to create a IGDA chapter here in Peru. So maybe i will join them, when the chapter becomes a reality.
