I don't know why everybody keep discussing about Fez and Sky Island. Fez is just a game very polished with a unique gameplay mechanics and lovely graphics. The costumers (or gamers/players) don't care how much time was developed. When released, if is fun, they'll play it. If don't, well...that another story. That's all. And i am sure that in the future, after Fez is released and if is successful, a lot of "clones" will try to take the market with similar or even better mechanics. Need examples? A lot of them: - Wolfenstein 3D and DOOM - Heretic, Rise of the Triad, Dark Forces, Duke Nukem 3D, etc...
- Super Mario Bros - Bubble Bobble, Adventure Island, Gremlins, Sonic The Hedgehog, etc...
- Space Invaders - Galaxian, Robotron 2084, Defender, Xevious, etc...
- Dune II: The Building of a Dynasty - Warcraft, Command & Conquer, Age of Empires, Starcraft, etc...
- And more...
And Sky Island is one of them. A "first clone one" released before the "original one". Even if Fez could be superior (i can't affirm it because i didn't play it. And is not released yet), Sky Island have some similar gameplay mechanics and is enjoyable to some extend. An acceptable "Fez clone" and one of the first...hmmm...let's call it 2/3D Platform Games.

I prefer C because looks pretty, but a great shading technique is needed and must to keep differences with the backgrounds. B isn't bad either, but only if is big enough.
But thinking again, a mix between B and C could be awesome (in some sprites with B and in others with C).

Nothing comes to mind. Probably the most memorable would be the carrot ship from Tyrian, though.
With a Banana Cannon implemented And don't forget about Silver Hawk from Darius series:

WHY DID THIS TAKE ME SO LONG. Because it's kawaii!!! Nice draw Both took me the same amount of time (mb the new one a little less). I drew the left one at the very beginning of my drawing learning process, it was actually my first artwork on my way to become pro :D It's your turn now, GO edit: you know what? fuck you all, I'll ignore you too! Clearly you have improved. In anatomy, style and message transmission. The old one say to me: "Hmmmmmm......" (only keeps watching you...) And the new one: "I'll fuck you up" (Scary )

Instead of working on my projects, today I made a boy band: "The Smooches" Looks nice, but, am I the only one that reed "cod4" instead of "cody"? You are right. It reads Call Of Duty 4 Bluh, title screen. I'm bad at large pieces like this. Probably still a W.I.P., needs more details. Looks nice!! And the name fits perfectly in the screen

A post-apocalyptic game about being the last man on earth, traveling to find some sign of civilization or refuge. I was thinking "Traildust", for some reason. Sounds like a steakhouse or something. Better ideas?
The Lone Wanderer (Bethesda could make another trial with this one) The Lone Traveler The Journeyman (i like that one) Searching Mankind Mankind is Lost I hope it was useful. Lone Wanderer/ Traveler seems a little cliche, but I like The Journeyman. Maybe just Journeyman could work? Depend if you wants something more 'legendary' ("The Journeyman") or simple ("Journeyman")...

You are a professional mine-worker who goes on a journey inside an abandoned, ancient and mysterious mine to rescue her daughter from the lord of this unknown terrain.
And his only weapon: a pickaxe.

Hi, I'm new to this forum and to game development (and pretty young too), I'm working on a FPS in BGE (Blender Game Engine) first my "real" project. Dont know much about moddeling or about logic brisc so now you can just move with WASD and mouse. Tried to do some weapon models (still don't understand how to make animations in-game). So here's screenshot, I'd love to hear critics and/or tutorials how to make stuff. Now done: 1. Walking. 2. Turning around with mouse. 3. Running with [Shift]. To Do: 1. Fix a bug that when gun and character(model) colides, the playes goeas of map in solar speed. 2. Shooting. 3. AI. 4. More maps. 5. Gun swiching and ammo. 6. Menu and HUD. I can't see any screenshots. My antivirus keeps blocking them

Your game is well done. Nice gameplay (aside, a better jumping will be nice), nice difficult curve (doesn't stress the player) and acceptable graphics. Just a more variable music could be nice.
