"Detective Hobo"...i like the theme but that's a bad choice of words. I prefer "Nomad", like @rek said.

The player is like a detective, right? Is he working for the government or for himself? If is the first one, "public" is okay. If is the other one, "private" is the right word.

And could be more interesting if you put the name to the character in the title. An example of this one could be "Professor Layton", a NintendoDS game about a detective.

Mario and Luigi are plumbers, right? So, why they never use their usual tools??
