It is a side-scrolling adventure, a tale of folklore, forests, feuding and fear. The quote is from the announcement page. I saw the 4 words starting with F and the terrible pun/riff on '4X games' ( "eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate." ) sprung to mind. I'm a terrible person, and I'm sorry. I'll stop hijacking your thread now go stand in the corner.

It is a side-scrolling adventure, a tale of folklore, forests, feuding and fear. :D The first thing I thought when I read about the game was 'Ah, so it's a 4F game...?' Thanks! What's 4F? It is a side-scrolling adventure, a tale of folklore, forests, feuding and fear.

Looking really interesting, and the concept art is gorgeous. The first thing I thought when I read about the game was 'Ah, so it's a 4F game...?'

Been busy, but still working away. I was working on some enemies based on a 'Golden Army' kind of idea - magical automatons in a variety of shapes and sizes, all part of said army. The last two rows are WIPs/roughs. Center left is the character sprite.

@phubans - i should change my avatar to another SD character then, to keep you on your toes
Or you could change it to your TIGL incarnation :D (for a short while at least). More on topic, I love those screenshots, such pretty environments and varied flora.

Your link appears to be broken ( but this might work ). If you can't afford an iPhone or an iPad, I would suggest you look for a used iPod. New they go for around $250 or so, I think? You might be able to find one used for $100 to $150.

That's the basic idea, as well as meeting other local people whom you wouldn't otherwise have the chance to meet in person. You also get the opportunity to show what you're working on, and be shown what others are working on too. You can get feedback, if you have something playable, or converse with folks about subjects of interest.

You can do either, really. If you already have a project, it gives you a good chunk of uninterrupted time to work on that without distractions. Or you can use the time to prototype a new idea and see what kind of reaction it gets from other jammers. Up to you.

It would be Puro Resulin. You forgot two whole characters. The 'Li' and the 'n'.
Not really, in Japanese it's common to contract two words and chop the end off. Classic example: Pokemon = Pocket Monster. The "suta" bit at the end is left off. Also, Famicom = Family Computer, the "puta" bit is left off. Plus, there is no "li" sound in Japanese. They have trouble pronouncing it. I believe it's Chinese that has a "li" sound. Japanese use Ra, Ri, Ru, Re and Ro. Also, not that I trust Wikipedia with anything, but Puro Resu is an accepted contraction... Having said that, Puro Resuringu would still be recognised (プロ レスリング) Since this is the internet and tone of voice is lost, I'm not trying to sound stand-offish with this post! Just a gentlemanly correction. Going with the whole contraction thing, you could just call the game 'Puresu Resu' ((ex)press wress').

I had a great time, loved hanging out and trying out all the games. Faraway is like a day one purchase if you have an iDevice.
