Artists are welcome to come, you can probably find someone to collaborate with on something (might want to poke around and set something up beforehand). Do you have a portfolio anywhere?

It could be interesting to have the cabinets function as a sort of server or other data transmitter that the cellphone up picks up on. You could then use it for promotions or something.
Similar to what Nintendo did with the DS's wifi content download for Pokemon and DQ, but for a cellphone app.
Or a foursquare that 'checks you in' automatically when you approach the cabinet, and sends you data that the app cares about (like a new map for your top-down action RPG, or a new tileset for your roguelike).
The possibilities are pretty staggering, but the cost/benefit ratio might be out of whack, especially since the whole point of cellphone games is the fact that you aren't tied to a single location.
It would really be a matter of figuring out why you would want your app to care about physical location.

Firstly, this makes me really I happy, I look forward to trying out Cobalt too! @Paul Eres: Getting front-page time on Kotaku is a pretty big deal, since it means that much more awareness, even if it's from people will limited interest in Indie games. More eyes on your game = higher chance of being successful. Plus, the 'Mojang' logo on the front of the trailer does a lot in the public's eye - it's essentially saying 'we think this game is cool and we're vouching for it'. All in all, really good news for Oxeye

Fishing simulator + Pinball
Equip a rod and a lure, then cast your line; Reel in a fish, then launch it to the heavens where it bounces on constellations racking up some mad points. Different fish have different properties (weight, bounce, size, bonus multiplier), and cause special effects if they land in certain constellations (eg. Swordfish hits the 'Knight' constellation you get a special lure, or unlock the Dragon constellation).
I actually want to make this now :D

If somebody created a Megaman Legends 3 fangame I would play the hell out of it. Even if it was just a hack of the MML1 or 2 ROM I'd be down with it.
Here, have fun. Hahaha, so crazy

Went back to working on the slime sprite: In the chart to the left, the top left was my original version, top center is an edit from the pixel work thread, top rightis a different, one-eyed version using the same color pallette as the edit. Then the middle two are mish mashes of the two above them, then the bottom center is a mishmash of the middle two, with two possible variations. I'm seriously considering using the bottom right one, but the transparency effect (the grey blob in the middle of it is supposed to be some internal organ or cell nucleus or something) doesn't look quite right. Then on the right are possible pallette swaps.

That's the thing, I grew up with all of those anthropomorphic characters in cartoons (Heck, most of the european-made cartoons I watched in the 80's and 90's had anthropomorphic animals instead of humans), and it just irks me that something I remember as a perfectly valid way of portraying characters automatically gets tagged as 'furry'. Anything with anthropomorphic characters automatically = furry. Even conpany mascots from the 1990's. Apparently. Stupid internet. I know, ugh. Anyway, there's a whole bunch of indie developers with mad skillz in this very community, make a spiritual successor to MML, release it, and swipe Capcom's fans from under their very noses. Doo eet!

heh, interesting stuff. It'd be kinda cool if someone actually went and put in a creepypasta section in an otherwise normal game. Like, trying to implement something like one of those crazy 'Black Cart' stories as an interactive experience, hidden inside another game.
Just for shits and giggles :D

Not knowing any more details than 'Cheerleader with Chainsaw vs Zombies' makes me think this is going to be much like SotD, except with more melee and panty shots, and less guns and penis jokes.
He does seem to have a thing for disembodied head sidekicks.
