So I'm going to use the mecha dragon guy more as a NPC I think than the main character.
Here is a mockup I'm working on:

Does the island look too, like, fuzzy? I wanted to have mostly bushy grass with some dirt underneath. I'm going to raise the level of detail with most of the tiles, but I wanted to know what you all thought of it right now. I also seem to have forgotten clouds D:

Thanks for any comments. Gentleman

I'm not really at a skill level high enough where I can see flaws in your work I think? You have a great amount of clarity with your tiles. Very eye pleasing stuff.  Gentleman

Thanks for those pointers Sundownkid. I made some edits...

Better?

It doesn't look like there's any torso to me, or is that covered by the arms? It looks like there's just legs a head and arms right now. You may want to make the legs a bit smaller and stick in a midsection if not just a small one. Otherwise  Hand Thumbs Up Right

Made a quick big headed cuter version which may work better in terms of displayed detail?

Thanks for your input. I did forget to point out which one you were supposed to be looking at so, oops. I think I fixed the tail here, thanks for pointing it out (didn't even realize it was squashed). I want to keep him reddish/orangeish so he can contrast well with blue and green backgrounds, which I want to have mainly in my environments. Any other ideas guys?

Hey,

Love me some steampunk and dragons so here's a combination.

He has pistons for horns, that will probably animate when he's idle. And he'll breath steam of course (and shoot electric blasts maybe). I want to put him in a game where he can fly between floating islands like a shmup section and then land on them to explore like, dungeons, towns, and stuff. Although I'm not sure how I'm going to make him fly without wings. I was thinking rocket boots or a jetpack-like attachment on the back. I'd say his name is Rust, too.

Anyway, any help making him look better is appreciated  Gentleman

I might be interested in this since I'm looking for a programmer to work with and my own ideas aren't catching any fish right now. I like your idea, but I'd want to change the setting to something like a cyberpunk future burglar thing. I find modern day settings very boring, but it may be just me. PM me or email me if you want and we can talk about stuff. I don't really have a portfolio, but I can show you lots of stuff I've done so far.

I'm also PMing you so check on that.

14  Developer / Collaborations / Sky Castle Pilot - idea closed for now. on: June 23, 2012, 04:47:34 AM
Hey TIGmen and TIGwomen,

Sky Castle Pilot is an idea that takes floating fantasy island castles and makes them into kind of a steampunk flying castle ship thing. Here's some concpet art.

The main character is a girl who can shoot lasers from her eyes, thus making her a formidable opponent throughout the skies. How the basic game is planned to go is that you fly your castle ship from floating city to floating city, doing missions (like fighting sky pirates, etc) and getting upgrades to your ship. It would be a short game to make first then, would later be expanded upon maybe.

If any programmers out there are interested, drop me a line at [email protected]

Thanks
