Although I agree that she was not right in trying to trick people into funding her operation, I still feel feel sympathetic towards her as she is obviously severely troubled and I wouldn't wish anyone to be in a state where they would attempt to commit suicide.
I hope she recovers from this.

I recently defeated the 4 kings, after a lot of failed attempts trying to focus on the usual dodge, strike and dodge again boss approach I decided to use Havel's ring and Power Within and started hacking away at them.

To encourage myself to be more productive, I created a greasemonkey script that berates me when I go on procrastination websites (like tigsource). I'm considering toning it down, because most of the messages are less "You should work on your game." and more "Stop wasting time, you miserable fuck.".

My list is pretty similar:
1.Tatami Galaxy 2.Oyasumi Punpun 3.Evangelion 4.Cowboy Bebop 5.Ghost in the shell
FLCL and Puella Magi Madoka Magica were close contenders.

I didn't look up anything beforehand, I just knew they existed. I guess I got lucky then.
Also, I managed to defeat Seath the scaleless, which involved the most tedious bonfire run yet. Luckily he doesn't have too much defense, so I was able to take away most of his health with great chaos fireballs, although it took me a while to realise the best way to avoid his crystal attacks, dying from curse attacks just made him even more frustrating.

After getting stuck at the Capra demon for a while, I eventually decided to create a new character, who rather being super quick and agile, is more purely offensive, with pyromancy and the zweihander. The game is so much easier now, I managed to defeat the Capra demon first try (although I died in the attempt) and I'm now up to the Dukes Archives.
Did the Anor Londo archers get nerfed in the patch? Because I just ran up the ledge and slammed them into the ground.

I think the main reason you don't see good stories in a lot of games is because they aim to be a good game first and a story teller second. Even games that are praised for their storytelling like Bioshock are filled with ludonarrative dissonance.
Games have great potential as a storytelling medium, but they still need to properly explore storytelling mechanics and integrate gameplay and story.
At the moment, games are capable of expressing some forms of narrative quite well, but are very inexperienced with others.
