The trees are floating...? If they're on a hill we should be able to see the hill. Again, make your character's colours pop. The ground is currently brighter than him, which makes no sense. The ground isn't playable. Like so:



Also tried a moon that had some personality. My biggest issue with yours is the jagged effect you inadvertently created on the rim. It's the perfectly duplicated bands of pixels one after the other. Nice choice of colours, though.

By the way, if you want edits, I'd appreciate if you don't post images at 2x zoom.

I was about to say I prefer the first and then thernz pointed out the arms. That seals the deal for my preference. I think if you want to get rid of the Sonic comparisons you'd be further ahead reworking the design entirely instead of making tweaks.
