I guess this is as good a place as any to tell you: You need to stop writing your posts as if you're trying to impress a teacher. It's painful to read. So much hollow padding. Way too many words to say so little. In every fucking post. The transparent faux authority in your tone doesn't help either.
I'm just trying to help, honestly.

If the information provided in this thread is correct, it's an incentive for employees to stick to the end of a project despite working conditions being shit. So no, shareholders would not like that.

If an indie console ended up just being for, and marketed at indie devs, that would be fine with me. It would mean considerably less commercial potential, sure. But it would also be an open platform that indie devs would be free to experiment on however they pleased. call it the "circle jerk" also yeah, what's a PC??

a pre half-life style FPS made to be played by at least two people, with cool monsters and cool weapons, and you run fast and can rocket jump and gib things, and maybe there are a few different classes to play as? it has a good mix of hordes of weak enemies that go down to a full shotgun blast, and single/squads of medium enemies with good AI that have a variety of moves and can take a while to kill but they die to a direct rocket hit or rifle headshot, and giant boss monsters sometimes.
an any% run takes about 3 hours if you're fast but it's impossible to do a 100% run in less than 15
or maybe some kind of two player metroid or zelda

Developer / Art / Re: How do pixel artists make 16 pixel sprites large?

Some engines are stupid with this though, and might still draw the scaled sprites "between" even pixels. Which annoys pedantic nerds like me to no end. In that case you have to draw each frame to a low resolution image which you then scale up to cover the entire view.

I wasn't arguing for giving people food for free, but against the notion that permanently giving anything to third world countries is harmful.
Turns out nobody's disagreeing with anyone, we're just bad at being clear.

That's incredibly simplified though. Emergency help is always needed somewhere. And "Throwing money" at school building and well drilling projects does long term good. Foreign corporations basically stealing the local resources and destroying local markets is the real issue that needs to be solved. Along with achieving political stability which the former does nothing to help with.
Don't make excuses to not help people, just make sure you're well informed about what it is you're giving to.

Probably makes for good design exercises, but certainly for boring games.
What's the point of removing sound from a game? What's the point of reducing the graphics to geometric primitives? Removing elements from something will not make the remaining elements better.
Make the best you possibly can, not the least you can possibly get away with.

which relates to reaction time- there are two kinds of reactions: simple, where you receive a stimuli and only react one way (in fencing, i was taught this was usually 20-60 milliseconds); or complex, where you have to make a choice (100-160ms) This doesn't sound right at all. In sprint racing, a reaction under 100 ms is a false start, because it's considered faster than humanly possible.
