I've been playing a lot of this lately, I'm a sub 1000, so I guess I'm not to great at the game yet, but it's still fun regardless, if you're on it send me a challenge, my username is Mittens

Make it short, Anything over 1 minute has gone beyond the attention span of the viewer,
Don't fall into the temptation to go through and show everything. You want to show your hard work I understand and you think that showing even the less exciting features will convince viewers that the game is good value, its deep and full of features, It's far more effective to only show the features that excite people and let them assume the others features are there or not.
The trailer isn't meant to give people a clear and accurate description of the product so that the viewer can make an informed decision on their purchase (maybe), the trailer is meant to excite your target market to go buy your game now!

Make sure everything you show appeals to the people you intend to buy your game, does the music in the trailer match with the music tastes of your target market? if the video presented in such a way as to strike the right age group? does it have the same tone as the game?

Those are a few things that I've found important and probably done very wrong in the past, I'm sure there's plenty more on this topic out there
905  Feedback / Playtesting / Re: Zombie Stomp [iOS] - too minimalistic? on: December 16, 2012, 04:59:55 PM
looks fun, I'm not sure if the background works, with the purple and black, maybe de-saturate the background and bring up the darks, this would have a kind of fog effect and separate foreground and background more clearly.

I think the menu may be too simple, the zombie theme is about action and gore, so maybe instead of just the hazman against a black background he could be running from a horde, spattered in blood, or doing some other dynamic action stuff to look cool.
906  Developer / Design / Re: On Making a Tower Defense Game on: December 16, 2012, 01:27:59 AM
There is a tower defense framework / starter-kit on the Unity Asset Store from memory, maybe look and see if that already has the basic things you want.

You shan't wait long!

I would also like to suggest something for this model, I think he could look more manly and alive if the eyes where less washed out and stronger looking like this;

The Stampede 3D Beta is finally going live over test flight, the IPA should finish uploading soon.

After much arduous work this build is now compatible with iOS6, all iPads, iPhone 5, iPodTouch5 and iPad Mini!

So whatever you have, you should be A-O-K to play this beta!  Grin

Here's a youtube clip of some raw gameplay so you can see some of the progress the game has made;

When you say 'flat rate' I assume you mean one single sum payment for all the art assets you need for this project and yeah, the only way you're going to find a reasonable number is if you send the job details to other artists and ask how much they would want.

I've worked as a contractor doing 3D models for games before, if you send the details of the job to me I could tell you what I would charge, I'm sure there's others on this forum who could so the same
