I swear, one of the best things in this forum is the wonder I feel when I see projects that are so original and left field that I just hope to see them through.
I must also say that it's great to see people coming up with so much different stuff.
Great story, simple, truly original. Nice art also.
Keep it up, Eatingburger. Nice thing you have here.

Ok, but lack of women is not a valid point, in my opinion. It's not a boarding school, right? I'd prefer quality, and the guy already has a lady, so...
Well, it was my opinion. I'll return to my corner.

Well, is the main focus of the thing learning awesome things or look at women?
You have a girlfriend, yes? All the more reason to go. After being in the "sausage house" for a while (considering you dislike or do not want to experiment with it), you can return to your girl and do what couples do in their private moments with more intensity, passion and all the romantic things romances have written.
This kind of consideration baffles me. You wanna go, go. The absence of women should only be a consideration if you: Are a single on the lookout Will be closed in a limited space for a few years Don't have hands to whack

Well, what do you know... Happens to most of us! Go to the devlogs section of this forum and take glee in the amount of discontinued projects, made by people like you, me, and the guy next door (unless he's a she). One thing to do is finish your first game. I completed one ridiculous game crapshit (just a sequence of poorly drawn images with areas you needed to zoom in in order to advance and marvel at its ridiculousness. Just complete one game. Make pong. AND STOP WATCHING PORN!

I am using Unity so it doesn't have a built in sprite system. JWK5, thanks for the tip, this will definitely help me.
Download the free edition of GameMaker or others. They are in the install.

Not to mention most games available for download for the 3DS were created for the DSi and don't really make use of any of the new features added in by the 3DS.
The virtual console games especially feel lazy considering the there are also 3D versions of NES games available for download as well (it'd be awesome to play Link's Awakening or Metroid in 3D like they did with Excite Bike). Hopefully that will all pan out in the future.
And charge an absurd amount of money for a beaten to death rehash? No thanks.

Most, if not all game engines that are available for download have spritesheets/sprites you can use, free of charge. Like GameMaker, you have that miner/explorer set of graphics that can be used to create a full game.
No need to mess around to deeply.

Or do what I did. Finish high-school, work for a couple years, blow it all on college.
Still better than taking out a loan, if you are going to do that, you had better make damn sure you will get out more than you will put in to pay it back. It's highly dependent on your performance (if you make it all in one stretch), fees, lodging, etc, of course. So, with a bit of safe assumption, basic mathematics, and discipline, you can make a safe average and aim to a certain amount. There was a holiday period that I, instead of going to the beach on vacation, spent the time working at a McDonald's. In my first year, all was going well, until the point my dad died (on CHRISTMAS DAY!!!!!) turning my brain into baby food, so I went to the exams without studying properly, failed almost enough exams to fail my first year, and been recuperating the failings during the rest of the course. I DID IT! And so can you. Just go at it head first, no looking back, no doubt. Go at it knowing you'll complete it. And then feel awesome with your victory, even if no one else will ever understand it. You won. That amounts for something.

I love the replies! Thanks everyone. I also realized in the past few months, we don't really have any cartoons or animations here in the Philippines. I'm thinking of picking up something with relation to that and video games so I can help improve the Animation and Video Game Industry here. What do you think?
I'd say it depends. Usually, breakthroughs in that kind of media come from the outside early on, with local industry developing with the knowledge acquired. If you see growth potential, go for it, but be mindful that you can have a diploma that leads you nowhere, because there's no one that knows what to do with you or there's no market for you to enter on. If you can, go at it and create a studio.

I finished high school with a computer technician diploma that I could wipe my lovely ass with (soon in the course I knew/wanted more than what was delivered).
I then went to college to have a translator's degree EN-PT-ES. I like the area, and sometimes an opportunity comes up.
Now work at an IT company, managing the printers of a whole bank. Not as exciting as it seems, but gives me time to mature my ideas. I can bring my laptop to hack away when I'm inclined to program and open internet access allows me to learn stuff while at work.

I think the big bad black men saw that kind of entity fast approaching, and fearing for their safety, decided to trash it.
If sig came at me running, I'd probably meet him with lethal force. I mean... LOOK AT HIM!

Pompi, for me, your game didn't hit a string. Maybe because you stated that your game is a game based on another game from which I never hear or read about. Graphics wise, nothing major, gets the job done.
Only from looking at the video and reading the text. No playing, mind you.
For less than 5$, you can get Commandos 2 or 3, CivIII Complete (OMFG!!) and a whole lot of others, so your point dies.
If you have the game mostly finished, why not take a look at possibilities of ramp it up graphics wise? Even I, someone who overlooks graphics found your game ugly. But I like your avatar, though, figure that.
