Are armor and weapons of a higher level always better? Or are there differences between the individual items themselves at the same level?

Hmm, why not make chaos floors push entities up slightly ?

Combat around an exit makes using direction keys a liability. This has been mentioned before and I have foreseen all the consequences - they would be bad and result in ever more complicated hacks to avoid anything interesting ever happening at a stairway or portal. Not happening. Sorry.

With this in mind I'm curious why you made open chests and pick up items the up arrow key ? I've run into quite a few items/chests at the bottom of stairs.

Got some more playing in today. Here's another bug. Next time I'll take a screenshot.

Some monsters fell down from a floor onto a horizontal disappearing floor. When I got near it it did the whole "turn into blades/make dust/not sure what it is" and they stayed floating in the air. I fell through the floor after them, stunned them, continued to fall and they stayed in the air.

DAY 267 - January 10, 2012

Are those gears powered by arrows?

EDIT: Ah looking at it it seems they are projectiles. Yea? From the launcher Tongue

Certainly grindy. What's the current equation for leveling up? Seems like a lot. For you what does the grindstone signify? It seems to me like I'd get something to press the button down and walk away.

I will say it was quite a neat thing to find the first time round, but I've never returned to it since.

All very good reasons  Smiley

Looking forward to playing more of your game.

Ah I see. Far be it for me to offer ideas, but since I had them I shall :D. Shoot them down or don't.

I thought it would be cool if you had two identical items, (eg two gauntlets) you could destroy the lesser to level the more powerful up one level. Not sure if I would ever use an Xp rune except for leveling myself up, though I still haven't gotten very far...

The other is simply that my gaming instincts want to press up to enter doors not E.

Also I found a bug, I leveled up in a small corridor with a low ceiling, at the same time an orc or troll came over and hit me. When I fell to the ground I stayed completely white. It went away at the next level up.

Edit: More bugs :D

I threw a rune of undead and it hit the wall and now I can't move. I can pull up the inventory just fine and my fps sits around 30. (I wrote this and then went back to the game, the rune was attached to my mouse and I could fly it around the screen at will. When it hit a monster my minion came out when it died)

Also I've seen a few monsters walk into walls and disappear.

Heyo, just registered here to tell you your game is awesome!

Keep it up, I've been following it for a good amount of time and enjoy reading your updates. One thing I can't figure out though is how weapons level up... Not sure if I missed that, or if it's just that you need to find better ones...
