I never played the sequel, but the first LBA was insanely fun to play. They don't make games like this anymore. You've got to play it! The first LBA was one difficult beast of the game so it put me off a little but LBA2 is pure awesomeness. And you're right, they don't make games like that anymore, but all is not lost in this case. The original authors are working on a LBA1 remake and if that does well there's a chance for the third installment. I guess it's like Al Lowe having to prove something with the LSL1 remake before the property owners let him make a new game. Messed up shit if you ask me.

Feedback / Playtesting / Re: Text-based multiplayer shooter

Thanks guys. Some things came up I'll try to fix/add in the evening: * Kill/Death messages should be visible to all players * Respawn messages, though it might spam the screen too much, so perhaps not. * Ability to see players on the same square as you. Since you can't shoot them, some knifing action maybe? * If several players shoot you, the hit message shows only the last shooter. 11 kills, 4 deaths, I am the fastest draw in west.
I panic when under fire so I can't get away fast enough.

I took a few days off from working on Pioneers because I'd been looking at the same code for too long and felt like doing something new for a change. This is what I did: As stated in the introduction text in the game, the inspiration came from this xkcd comic. I always thought it was hilarious but also really stupid. I've seen text-based shooters before but not in multiplayer. So I made one. It's very basic right now but if there's any interest, I'll work on it some more. Ammo management would be really tedious so it'd be a nice addition to have Anyway, come join me and let's try it out Let's Play!Should at least work on Chrome, Firefox and Safari. IE might work too. Dunno. Don't take the game too seriously. Writing it was just a programmers idea of having fun. POLYGONROCKPAPERSHOTGUNEUROGAMERGIANTBOMBINDIEGAMES/r/games/r/webgamesSUPERLEVEL.DEKOTAKUKOTAKU (AU)

My phone gives a lil vibe when you press an on-screen button.
On Android it does, indeed. Not really a physical property of the screen but yes. Actually a bit annoying when using the keyboard. I know where this is going.

But touchscreens do have tactile feedback by definition (hence 'touch'). And it's an interesting control device, similar to but potentially better in some cases than the mouse on PC. Picking, drawing, swiping, etc. Touchscreen facilitates plenty of actions well.
No, touchscreens do not have tactile feedback. Yes, there's 'touch' in the name but it doesn't work this way. The screen reacts to your touches but it doesn't work the other way round stimulating your finger. There is no physical feedback, only in-direct visual + audible response, so it's not haptic. And yes, everything is dying. From the moment it's born

First play video I've come across on YouTube. Sweeeeet! Not much else to update. Still working on the overworld. The GUI is still missing so I won't show a screenshot just yet. Last night I got the terrain generation and drawing working on there and today I implemented the transition to exploration mode. You can take a look at what I did last night on Twitch. On Greenlight it's the second top rated game in the concept section. Not this or last week but in overall. Good. Good. If any of you voted, thank you

Yeah, it was fun for about 2 minutes. I managed to play against two people. The movement feels laggy, I mean it takes a while before the dot moves once you press a key. Anyway, if nothing else, it's a great foundation for a multiplayer shooter. Add more weapons, power-ups and some real graphics.

The visuals are really good but there's something about the whole shilouette style that feels overdone in games. There was even a discussion on the subject somewhere in these forums. I think the point was the even if only a handful of games have used it, the style is so unique that you automatically associate it with these games which makes standing out a bit difficult.
But don't mind me, it's still very pretty and probably a blast to play.

If think if EA could replace all programmers, designers and artists with chimps or robots that require no pay nor credit space they probably would. Manpower is so over-rated.

I only upgraded from XP in 2012 so Windows 8 will most likely pass me by completely. Though, I don't think Windows 9 will be the salvation we're all looking for (talking about the historic good-bad Windows cycle), times have changed I'm afraid. But one can hope.
All I want is a desktop OS on my desktop PC.

i am getting praise from others, i dont want to sound like a self upsessed jerk, but i have been told that it is awsome by my testers. And good idea. Untrustedlife on his gameTrue dat. You've got to have confidence in your game as if it's the best darn thing after sliced bread.

For me, the camera movement feels dizzying. Perhaps a smooth movement would be better instead of discrete steps. It's especially notiacble at the end of the animation when the chacter comes to a stop and the camera catches up and settles down - it looks like it's moving in a zig-zag (right > down > right > down ..) instead of a straight diagonal line. About the tune. I like it. I'm usually not bothered by repetition in background music, so I don't think that's a problem. What bothers me is the weird souding low percussion thump. I think it's too noticeable and there's some pitch sliding going on which doesn't quite fit. If it's drum thing, the pitch shouldn't change. I think that's what out of tune toms sound like The graphics are awesome but I agree with others on that the tree is too detailed compared to other things. Keep it up, it's all looking mighty fiiiiine!

On Friday I saw that Greenlight has gotten a Concepts section and decided to give it a try. My game's not nearly far enough to be evaluated by the proper GL thing so this is perfect. So, if you go HERE you should see a game by yours truly somewhere near the top If you voted for it (I'm not sure if thumbs up or either favouritings count) I'd really appreciate it, even if it doesn't really matter, though it helps to stay in the top and be seen by more people. Also, I'd love to get all 5 stars on there. All in all the feedback has been positive there, only a few people have voiced their dislike of the graphics. That's totally okay and expected. I am trying the build right now and I noticed the name of "Marciudad". In spanish it should be "Cuidadmar" to be a correct translation of "Seacity", it gets backwards.
Anyway I really dig your style.
Thank you. I'm not even sure why I chose Spanish for naming the city, it was pretty random. So, should I keep it Spanish I'll be sure to change it eventually.
