I must say your work is A+ art, anyone who is really interested in making something unique and proffesional should seriously work with you. I find it odd that you haven't find one programmer yet. Good luck St0ven!

you should go to wayofthepixel, if you feel they are harsh just go to pixeljoint, or even better post an sprite in both sites, and you will get twice as critiques, and if you don't like one just stick to the other one.

Well, there is an easier way to do it, if the game is small of course.

Just tell him them to help you make your game and that you will help them making their game no matter if you like their idea or not, so it's a win win, no reason to argue since you will be also helping them in the game you think it's crappy and they will help you in your game that they think it's crappy..

hmm, I think you should look at the pose and perhaps study some anatomy, I reccomend posemaniacs.com. The Think is that the pose looks way better than before, but there are some things you might try rethinking, just by looking at it.. when you see it, the eye looks like a dot in the face not like the ye, the two boobs looks like just a chest or armor thing, then the jacket just look like some sort of decoration above her pants, you should look it from the pixel level, what you see is what you get.

Sometimes I get confused and do sprites that look like random lines yet for me that random lines might be a face Tongue, but since people don't see that I have to simplify and make it look like a face, clear it and just try to work it out in the reduced space, to see how I feel your sprite currently looks and might look better is the following image

What I just made the image bigger and made an outline in black around it, then I made some corrections, mostly anatomical ( yet my anatomy proportion also sucks balls) but it might help you realize what looks bad and good:

about the feets, her right feet looks weird not touching the ground at all, the right one looks ok .

Apart from that there is an improvement and I like the newer one, just some minor touches and tweaks missing.
9  Developer / Collaborations / Looking Collab with programmer on: August 22, 2011, 07:40:26 PM
Hello, I'm looking with someone to collaborate with programmer preferibly someone who is willing to work for either Flash or mobile(either android or iOS), I really want to expand and try some market in the mobile just to  see what it can happen, anyways, my goal is to work in a puzzle type game, either physics or just logic type game, in similar style to the following mockup I made for a weird physics game :3 :

I offer experience in 2D development mostly pixelart in 2 flash games, I am no expert in no pixelated type art yet I beleive it shouldn't be too hard to adjust Wink. Most of my pixel portfolio-ish image can be seen in the following links:

I'm interested any one need an artist to collab with?
12  Developer / Business / Re: Hiring a Programmer? on: August 17, 2011, 02:04:59 PM
The problem I find with collab and splitting 50/50 is that the programmer since he is the tester and coder tends to make the game his way, Like I tell him no double jump, yet he ads it, I tell him I want him to move faster and he doesn't do it.

This is tough. The best solution: Find someone to work with in real life. If you're in a room together, true collaboration is a lot easier.
Yeah I know, I have always wanted that, it will help speed up, but it seems no one is interested in game making, I am currently taking a class about game making and we are only 4 including me, and they are more focused in Commercial stuffs( actually they just want to make a crappy Fps ), and they don't know how to program a full game just basics like movement and so.

I will try to recruit a coder more than getting a collab and seei f he likes my ideas and so, but first I gotta design it well.

Nix thanks for the help, I really thought a programmer price is nearly the same as an artist ;/.

oh wow I didn't know  it was that expensive, you sure know how to iluminate me, my idea was to pay 500-1000 at most but it seems that it will be hard.

It's just a big pain to work with someone who doesn't follow the idea that we defined from the beggining, yet hopefully I will be able to work with someone who is.

14  Developer / Business / Hiring a Programmer? on: August 16, 2011, 07:26:23 PM
Hello, I have been lately trying to work solo, yet since I don't know how to code a complete game I have decided to actually hire one, yet I get some doubts and I am wondering if the lovely people of tigsource would hel me out:

How hard is to hire a programmer?
How much to pay him?
Any personal expierience or things I should watch out?

I'm just trying to know what are people experience in this, since I have seen people mentioning how they hire artist and artist related problems, yet no one has ever mentioned hiring a programmer ;( or atleast I haven't seen one.
15  Developer / Workshop / Re: Grass tiles on: August 07, 2011, 03:13:08 PM
I think you are a good spriter, yet you need to tackle the basics again, for example in the hat she has a white red and then it goes to blue and then it has some green in it.. atleast in the last one, then you have the green in her pants too dull to look good, I have seen edits on the base, but you keep mentioning that you don't want it chibby, I really want to see an example in game to see what you are aiming in this game : ). So far it seems that they keep on giving comments and you just don't follow them.
