You do realize that, because the mod comes with no maps, playing it without standalone maps would be pointless, right? The mod being standalone is meaningless if the maps aren't.

Dark Mod is pretty good; this is good news, but if you check the forums there's plenty of work to be done before that point.

Where was the outrage with the Humble Ebook Bundle?
Where was the windows-only steam drm with the Humble Ebook Bundle?

Also, it would be hard to have a trigger warning on being murdered for obvious reasons. But here is a more comprehensible life example: it is possible for veterans, for example, to have PTSD episodes due to something like a fireworks show (reminds them of shell fire, etc). Now, if you were with a veteran and suddenly took them to a fireworks show just to be a douchebag, you would be an awful person and probably after he recovered he'd punch you in the fucking face -- and you would deserve it.
The point of pointing out a rape trigger is to avoid this in internet conversations where, to keep with the allegory, you can't just look out the window and see the signs for the firework show -- it might be sprung upon you suddenly. It's just a way of being considerate, which may be why Daiz and so on have trouble understanding the concept, as they are sexist and sociopathic hate-robots.

So I've read through both threads and gathered a list of quite a lot of things to talk about. Let's start. - On Rape and Getting Offended: I see people saying that just using the word "rape" itself is terrible and sexist and so on. I disagree. Mostly because I refuse to believe that women in today's first world societies would actually think that they live in the constant fear of rape by every random stranger they bypass on the streets or whatever. Frankly, to my ear a person like is that more likely to have other very much more real issues than actually getting raped. And for that matter, I am going to say that rape can be funny. And so can be many other serious subjects for that matter. How about brain cancer? Or murder (just look at videogames in general)? Or freezing to death? That's actually a real danger that everyone around here has to deal with during winter (especially when the temperature hits -30C and beyond), yet we still joke about it anyway. You're right noone in first world countries is ever raped; I'm glad we've managed to escape its influence much like polio through the use of magical rape-prevention vaccines. They all laughed when Jimmy Carter proposed it, but now we can all share in wacky rape jokes together and noone will have to have an unwanted pregnancy through rape either as the female body has a way of preventing legitimate rape babies from coming to term you STUPID IGNORANT FUCK Jesus Christ are you physically incapable of empathy or even thinking one tiny bit about what you are saying?

Sure, you could keep being a sarcastic asshat, but why would you do that? It seems like being sarcastic would undermine the point you're trying to make, when you obviously have a reasoned and rational argument to make about how giving lots of money to the executives at a business will trickle-down and benefit employees even as THQ continues to lay people off.

isn't "really cool" a troll account?
It's registered in January 2011 and has an Introduce Yourself post from then -- and nothing until this year, but still, a long time to keep an account around just to piss off eva in the future. If he's a troll, he's a boring one, and if he's not he's an insufferable dipshit. Actually, that applies to both situations I suppose.

An exciting new Indie Royale bundle is now available here! It contains Greed Corps, Conquest of Elysium 2, Hamlet, and some other things I've forgotten; it doesn't matter, though, because the best use of my money rather than give it to these developers would be to give it to a big company where it helps the most people. I'm thinking maybe Bank of America, or the government of China. It's unfortunate that helping a company means that the CEO gets to benefit by skimming a healthy portion off the top, but the alternative is a lot of people losing employment.

Not that I'm a huge fan of THQ, but you gotta admit, Saints Row 3 is the most ludicrous open world city game ever made. I don't even like that kind of game much, and it takes some balls to make something that ridiculous.
Saint's Row 3 is Saint's Row 2, but smaller, with horrible and boring missions, and most of the multiplayer modes taken out. So it's more a case of THQ stepping in and making something that was great worse than their "having some balls."

So you haven't seen the people claiming we should buy it to support THQ and help it out in its time of need? If not, I can see why you would be confused and mystified by my statement to the contrary!
