If this gets up and running and Adobe doesn't take it back, wow. CS2 is so great, everyone should snag this if you have the first thought about doing art/UV Mapping/Web Design. Thanks for posting this, I got it! Also, it's not a mistake, Adobe apparently disabled the CS2 authentication server today, so all CS2 (not just photoshop) is free. edit: grabbed illustrator too, now if only I was a better artist... double edit: audition too, seriously people, get this shit

when platforms were king : mario bros 1 (1984) mario bros 3 (1988) super mario world (1990) people who are 15 now weren't even born then people who are 25 now were born in 1987/88 so hardly capable of playing super mario world at age 2. so I reckon you either have to add a decade to those ages or think of another reason.. The games were still around after they were released... I grew up playing mario world and super mario 64 and mischief makers and I was born in 1993. Also, that's just my theory, I admit it is just a guess.

I think most of the people who want to get into game development right now are like 15-25 (I know that's not everybody though). People who were young during the era when platforms were king. Lets be honest here, the lions share of what would be considered "classic" platformers were created between the early nes and the early n64 times. Maybe as time goes on we will see a shift towards people developing more shooters?
Also, I think "its easier than many other genres" is a pretty reasonable argument too.

I have run two separate forums over the years (both of them no longer exist). I think that just having the possibility of banning brought up does as much to stop people from being douche bags as actually making an example of somebody and banning them does. Because like you said, what does banning actually do? People will either make an alt account or just move on with their lives. Also, how do you guys get inspiration for a project? I want to do something bigger than a prototype or a game jam but I have trouble deciding what I am going to commit a few months of my time to

Attitudes like yours probably cause more damage than any actual consequence of a divorce could. gg
I'm sorry WHAT? How so? Explain. Sry for double posting, but as peanutbuttershoes explained, this is a big deal. You cant just say "no big deal, they probably hated each other anyway." Seriously, devorce is no joke, especially for any child still living with the parrents. It will TEAR your soul appart. IT has the psychological potential to make your kids future marreage bad too, just like yours. The death of love IS equivelent to the death of a person, because love is the culmination of two personalities into one. I hope everything goes good for Mono. My best friends parents have been divorced since he was really young, and none of what you just said is true. Kids of divorced parents are pretty much the same as kids of non divorced parents

Hugs Mono @Friend: If that screen exists, I will pick male any day of the week. It's not that I think that females are inherently inferior, but the hard truth is that females who are equally talented as a male counterpart will have a harder time becoming accepted in computer science (which is my chosen field) or really any science. I mean, it's not like some back of the bus shit, but their is a slight prejudice.

I think their is a x86 port of android, it might not be the most stable thing in the world, but it exists edit: just looked it up: http://www.android-x86.org/Oh wow. I have an old netbook lying around, I may just have to install this on there. Thanks! And tacograveyard, thanks for all the details! Those battery covers had me worried, so I'm glad I'm not alone (and hopefully, they fix that up) based on the unboxing videos I've watched. Bummer about the joysticks and triggers, but the touchpad has always looked more like it's designed "just in case" so that "technically" you can still play Fruit Ninja ;P Good review though! No problem, tell me how it works out! I might try it myself, but ATM I am grappling with my freebsd installation and I don't really want to add another OS to the pile

GameStick has really caught my eye. This and Ouya seem to be pushing Android as a competitor to PC more than anything else, making it a much broader OS than any game console. I wouldn't be surprised if eventually, Google released Android as a PC OS at some point.
Regardless, I'm just glad we have options for Android games to stop using virtual buttons. Anything to get better controls, and I like the more open picture idea too. (no virtual buttons == no HUD clutter)

I have induced lucid dreaming quite a few times before, and would wholeheartedly recommend the "reality check" technique, what I did was count my fingers. Also, I have done my fair share of psychedelics, and it's not really comparable to the lucid dreaming experience. Also they cost money and can lead to severe psychological problems if you have a bad trip. Not hating (like I said I have done some drugs in my days), but it's not really an apples and oranges comparison. I can recommend lucid dreaming to people, but I would never tell someone else to take drugs, too many things that can go wrong. If you want to know about lucid dreaming, their are any many good books and articles on the subject, just look around for them. Oh, and avoid Carlos Castaneda's book on the subject like the plague, biggest waste of time I have ever read. Keep a journal next to your bed, first thing you do when you wake up is write your dream down
After a month or so you'll probably have your first lucid dream
Also, this^. This is solid advice. Good luck Friend! And just keep working on it, it will eventually happen

Yeah, I agree. Dual stick or touch-button games would work well on the Ouya.
Using the touch-screen as gesture input sounds like an interesting idea that could be fairly easy to implement. Thinking about it now, what if they had put the four face buttons on the actual right analog stick? Like you wouldn't have to take your thumb off of a button to tilt a stick? That could be kind of a cool feature for shooters-centric games. Ionno, it might not work well.
Kind of unrelated, but it would appear the back triggers are analog, and not digital.
Anyone played the ios version of jet grind radio? they use gestures for the graffiti that would be perfect for the ouya touch screen
