Looks awesome. But your ground tiles and background tiles are really really close to the same color and hard to differentiate from one another.

Somewhat related. Working on AI, hit boxes, death, etc. Ended up building a tiny state machine for the enemies that basically says "you see the dude chase them forever until one of you is dead".

I am okay with all of this. Wanting players be more aggressive, From Software created a more agility focused combat system to put players on the offense. Shields and heavy armor are almost non-existent, so opting for a turtle fighting style is not really an option. When locking-on to an enemy, your dodge roll will turn into a dash maneuver, allowing you weave in and out of the fray with ease. If an enemy is about to attack, and you time dash right, your character will evade directly to the side or even behind the opponent, leaving him open to devastating damage.
Moreover, firearms can stun enemies and open up their defenses. Called the Counter-shot, when you shoot an enemy about to attack, you'll stun them and leave open to a devastating counter-attack. Think of this as Bloodborne's take on the parry, but it's way more brutal and satisfying to pull off.
When you take a hit, you lose a portion of your health bar. You have a limited time afterwards to regain that health back. Within that limited time, if you get your hit in on the enemy, you get your health back. Source: http://www.destructoid.com/bloodborne-is-bleak-and-unforgiving-279524.phtml

Don't care.
Souls games aren't hard to me anymore anyway because I have played them. Bloodborne would have to do some insane shit to be hard to experienced Souls players. Honestly the biggest punishment to me is losing time/progress in the stage. I don't care about losing souls or hp or items or whatever. If the game still puts you at a checkpoint then its still going to be punishing as all hell.
Give game now.

I didn't like Fez very much gameplay-wise. It was okay, but it opened up way too early, and AFAIK, it's just platforming, which isn't too interesting given the lack of challenge in the first few minutes. I'd see why other people liked it, though.
Never played Fetus backwards.
EDIT: Oh, but not having trick jumps and stuff's probably a good idea.
I will never finish Fez because after I get to the area thats all in the dark I just hate it. That area, I mean. I really dig the overall vibe from Fez though. @Superb Joe <3

Playing Fez again has made me less worried about making platforms and junk. The reason being that in Fez (if you haven't played it) everything is a jump through platform and that works really really well. You never slam into stuff, you never bump your head and cut your jump short, you never have to make any sort of goofy pixel perfect jumps etc etc. Fez is chill. I like chill. So who here hasn't played suteF? http://gamejolt.com/games/puzzle/sutef/4195/This is one of my favorite games and a source of heavy inspiration for me. You never have to wait for the game to do things before you start solving puzzles. Almost the exact opposite of Escape Goat (see earlier posts). You never have to make weird trick jumps or do things that feel like you're "cheating" the system to make it work. This is my goal. Be even remotely as good as suteF.

Spoilers?: I got to this point where I'm kind of stuck. I have two choices of bosses to fight. One is these "twin" fire guys, the other is this King/Queen skeleton. They both seem a little too difficult for me to kill at my current level. I don't know where else I can go to level up. Is it possible to get to a second town at this point, or are 1-2 of these guys blocking the path? The crafting system is a mystery to me. I can't imagine how anyone could ever figure it out without reading an external tutorial. I drop an item on a whetstone... but I can't see that it's having any effect. Also, on many quests, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next. Jake's dog is telling me to get items off the suspects so he can smell, but after I collected items from their houses and talked to him, nothing new happened. Perhaps I need to pickpocket items? I don't have a high enough skill to do that. What level are you? be like 7-9 for those bosses. Crafting recipes are laid out clearly in the books you find. If you try to craft something and nothing happens, a message will pop up over the character that is trying to craft telling you that x skill is not high enough. There are like 15 ways to complete that quest. Just get a shovel.

Hello 4k MMR here...
Speaking of which what is everyone's MMR around here? Mine (solo) is constantly around 2800-3000 Calibrated at 3.4k solo and 3.5k party. Not good enough to carry 4 people every game so I'm down to 2.9k solo and 3.1k party. Just started playing ranked again and I'm starting to climb back up.
