Top Down 2D Shoot'em up Roguelike...

RAGEKILL has a totally 100% destructible Levels. Everything blows up and becomes flaming tiles of debris with tons of screen-shake and explosions and enemy blood.

I have been developing the tile engine in Unity for a year and this game for about 3 months or so. Most of the graphics still need work - but that will come later.

I hope to have a playable alpha in a month or so - let me know if you would like to play!

This game looks awesome so far  Hand Clap, maybe you could add that you needed to survive (from monsters or hunger? or both) or find all the secrets (because of the randomly genorated world and from the gifs it looks dark). Keep up the good work and I hope you keep posting. Good luck!  Panda

Thanks Fuzzy!

I have a day night cycle up and running and I made this gif at night, but thanks for the advice. I need to do some proper gifs and pics because the first ones are pretty bad Smiley

The name is a work in progress....

So, my game is a top down 2D game that I have been building in Unity for a few months.

It follows a scientist as he slides between different worlds.
The scientist can head back to his null space lab and build more powerful machines that will allow him to explore new worlds, store loot farm and cage animals.

I have the major mechanics worked out and working including:

Random world generation (only 1 biome so far)
Basic Critter AI
Base building
Time of Day
Harvesting
etc.

SPEED UP x 10...

Looks interesting. My first thought on the UI is that it might be worthwhile to have a faster path to part placement, with tools to refine those parts later. New users might be intimidated by seeing too many placement options up front. Maybe you could get away with good enough defaults and let the user discover more advanced features later.

Any particular usage besides rendering? Maybe you could look at providing export options for  block-based games, although I'm guessing you store more detail than simply block type associated with each part. You might consider making this a viable editor for some of the block-based space games in development.

Thanks for the feedback. I've taken the advice and advice from Reddit as well and I will be creating a FTL type game with this. So 'Rogue like' with ship building/designing and lots of combat.

Make awesome spaceships and show your friends...

In SPACECRAFT (see what I did with the name there Smiley ) you can create spaceships with hundreds of different building blocks. The screenshots here use about 8 blocks, but the final product will have over 300 block types to choose from. You won't actually be able to fly your ship around, but you will be able to pose your ship and produce high res screenshots of it. You will also be able to share your creations and so forth.

I'm not using voxels so there is a limit to how many blocks can make up a craft, Ive successfully tested up to 2000 before any frame drops and even then it was still totally usable - so I don't have any idea how large a ship you can create.

My brother, Chris (http://www.stasisgame.com) will be doing all of the block graphics.

Check out the screens here (this took me about 10 minutes to whip up).

SPACECRAFT will be free for the lite version (limited blocks) and then the pro version will have 100's more blocks - but both will be fully functional. Toast Right
