I'm at this big monster that throw's around bombs, now, and so far I didn't enjoy it much. I only have 6 coins, so I guess I'm still fairly early into the game, but the progression was rather weird and the gameplay mostly tedious up until that point. Often a room is full of stuff to do, but apparently I can't do anything other than walking across it and through the other door, because I will have to enter the room from another direction later on. And if I did get something to do, it was usually pushing blocks around and getting killed repeatedly, without the feeling that I really did much wrong.
And now I'm in this room where I have to dodge a big monster with somewhat erratic movement, which throws timed bombs across the room, all the while carrying about 15 blocks from one side to the other, one at a time?!
This wouldn't even be so annoying, if I didn't have to restart the level after every little mistake.

Am I doing it wrong? Or, does FiNCK get better if I go on playing some more? So far I am not motivated to do so.

But, I guess I'm generally not a big fan of puzzles which require platforming skills to solve. I like platformers, they can also be harder, but a mixture doesn't seem to appeal to me. The pinnacle of puzzle platformers in my opinion would be Braid, which solely relies on beautifully clever puzzles and never on advanced skills. So, I guess FiNCK just isn't the right game for me.

I saw the first two point five seasons a few months ago. So, it pretty much gets even more convoluted and confusing, then ends without doing a great deal to resolve it?

I couldn't watch Lost for long, because I think it just isn't good when obviously, as was said before, not even the writers have a clue what all the stuff is about that they invented, and they go on to weave more and more undefined details into it.

It's out! And, if you missed the latest news, it's free, though it costs $4 to unlock custom level support.

Cheesy Just great.

I guess it's always the same bug because of which the wrong models are loaded. Though the donkey lady does really look suspiciously intentional.

Meh, you guys.

MisterX changed his status to Can't wait for the PC version.

The german PC games magazine indirectly nearly confirmed that RDR will be released for the PC, even claiming that it is 80% done, whatever that means. Of course, it could mean that 80% would be the game as it is now and 20% porting it to the PC. In any case, I guess there is close to absolute certainty that it will get a PC release in the not so far future Smiley

According to Wikipedia Rockstar Games stated in April that there was no PC version in development, otherwise they refused to comment on it. I suppose development on the PC port of GTA4 also wasn't started much earlier than the console release. And, if they certainly wouldn't develop a PC version at all, how would they benefit from not just saying so? If they announced that there will never be a PC version, I guess many of those who are waiting for it now will just buy it for a console, whereas now they don't.
So far, I have hardly any doubt that there'll be a PC release. I just wonder for how many more games they can keep this tactic up, it's starting to get silly.

I thought GUN was quite fun. It somewhat lacks in polish and the open world seems pretty dead, but at least before RDR it was still a unique thing. I think I found it a bit too "gamey", or "arcadey", as there are often many clone enemies, and there are very clichéd boss battles. All in all, though, I think it was well worth the 8€ or so I paid for it.

I've also yet to play Call of Juarez and its successor, both of which I think I'd enjoy a lot. So, despite my guess that RDR will be one of my favorite games of all time if it gets a PC release, I don't mind waiting for a while.

I think my favorites got to be the boomerang and the samurai sword. The boomerang seems to strike a nice balance between damage and challenge, whereas the sword changes gameplay quite a bit as it forces you to get up close, and it's very strong without being overpowered. Also, that split second pause when you hit with it makes it feel nicely powerful!

Besides, most of the Wii lineup should be a little more kid-friendly than Left 4 Dead Wink (I'm not looking at you, MadWorld!)

I own no "current gen" console, the most modern is a GameCube with about a dozen games, but at least there are also lots of good games for that one. They run natively on the Wii and nearly none should be expensive at all Smiley From what I've heard having a bunch of GameCube or "Classic" controllers for the Wii is preferable, anyway, as even some Wii games play better with that than the Wii remote.

I guess you mainly have to ask yourself how much you need the modern "hardcore" games, i.e. mostly the shooters and other action games. The Wii has few (good ones) of those. But, at least if I was really more than anything looking for fun splitscreen multiplayer, I guess from what I know I'd be happy with a Wii, especially with the GameCube games available to back that up.

Does that remind you of something? Wink

For a change, though, the developers even stated Aquaria as an inspiration. Looks rather nice, too.

This makes me curious to know what would've happened had they announced the source code to only be released if it hits 2 million.

Whaat, there's actually a Hitlers Must Die! demo?! I also just played the two V-Sides demo games yesterday and thought they were nice, but even a hidden HMD demo right in there!

It's really cool, and the controls are a lot simpler than I thought they would be.

I've just played and played through Outcast for the very first time, as it's been released on GOG.com some weeks ago.

It's really nice and has a good atmosphere of its own, especially due to the untypical graphics with the voxel terrain, procedural animations and a lot of effects which weren't common in 3D games for several years after Outcast's release. Though, it shows that these technical innovations were a big part of the game's appeal at the time, whereas they are nothing special anymore nowadays.
Still, it's a pretty unique sci-fi action-adventure and certainly was a worthy experience.

On a side note, it's probably the only game I know which is not hard to begin with, but gradually and deliberately gets easier as you progress. Weird.

Next up in the queue are Deus Ex and Monkey Island (Special Edition), two more classics I've never really played at all.

I know this is a big necropost, but I just remembered this and thought I should say that I'm still very much looking forward to it, if it's still in development. I understand that Super Meat Boy is the priority, but I hope this is not forgotten Smiley At least from the looks of it, I think this could even very well stand on its own, instead of being part of a collection.

How are the averages by operation system calculated? I've heard that with the purchase you get access to all three versions of each game, anyway, instead of buying a specific one.
