it hasn't happened since i upgraded to the current beta but that problem was one of the biggest turn offs for a lot of people for the past handful of years so if you honestly haven't seen it you're incredibly lucky

quick morning self portrait in a program that unregistered itself for some fucked up reason
323  Developer / Art / Re: Pixel art in Photoshop? on: September 17, 2013, 03:41:35 AM
That's weird. I've never(or maybe something so minor that i can't remember) encounter a bug using that program. Care to elaborate?
let me tell you a story about endless error messages that can happen at the drop of a hat upon clicking any single thing, whether its a button or a pixel being pl

the FIRST thing you should do in order to start a business is finish school and/or not be 15

i think though just by sony doing what they've been doing w/r/t indie devs they're going to be able to steal whatever userbase is left on the ouya

which isn't really competition but i mean i guess that counts. kind of.
326  Player / Games / Re: PS Vita TV on: September 16, 2013, 05:35:23 PM
its not 100% correct because the vita tv will take tiny idiot baby ass man ouya and sautee him in a pan full of canola oil before tossing him into some sort of fucked up breakfast wrap yes i agree

yeahh i feel u. fighting games are a struggle to learn

It'll be a long while until I can pull off those 75% Takuma HD corner juggles :X
also THAT REMINDS ME
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkSHDd6gcPo

of the 5 or 6 characters i was messing around w/ on the console version way back when it first came out takuma/mr karate was the only one i couldn't get a touch of death combo with and that is Fucked Up

e: although i guess i didn't with duo lon either but i don't think i ever got very far with him. he's so intimidating

e2: actually shit one other thing, cancels need to be timed with the attack you're cancelling out of

so like if you do a special and it hits twice you have to finish the input for the next special on either the first or second hit
they both have advantages depending on context but if it's not a strict combo usually the second hit works. sometimes you have an entire second after the fact to cancel too. mess w/ timing)

i dont remember if i said so earlier but i'm gonna be working on the first princess this week so probably before i start on that i'll run through his animations and give them a bit more expression

honestly the attack faces are probably the only thing that'll get changed just because of how often you'll see them?? i think anything else is getting into the same weird category of "this 16x16 character with 4 frame animations should blink often"

+1 on the skullgirls and KOF13

jebus KOF is technical
mm
i don't know if i'd say you need any knowledge of the technicality to play with average players tho

at its core it's a really simple game (4 attack buttons and very basic movement) and there's a learning curve somewhere between street fighter and tekken but low/mid level matches require at most like, knowledge of how to hop correctly and a good spacing game.
and decent execution because kof is brutal about sloppy inputs

Then the unity docs is meant for ignorant fools.
why yes, a program's help documents are usually there for people who don't know what they're doing
that's so good little buddy im so proud of you

335  Feedback / DevLogs / Re: FROG SORD on: September 15, 2013, 06:32:20 AM
Well, if you just make a few variations, like ribs and vertebrae that would fix that problem. It's just a suggestion, though.
yeah i could easily just split up a few pieces of the bodies for that

we'll get to the point where smaller details like this are important in probably 2 or 3 weeks though, there's still a handful of things that need to be done beforehand iirc
336  Feedback / DevLogs / Re: FROG SORD on: September 15, 2013, 03:43:16 AM
imagine a solid line of the outline colors on that bone stretching the entire length of the stage

it grows with every enemy you defeat
it will never stop growing

you can not stop it
337  Feedback / DevLogs / Re: FROG SORD on: September 15, 2013, 03:42:30 AM
considering how short and sweet most of the levels i've played have been i doubt it'd cause too many (or any, at all) problems to have them laying around

the only problem though is that they all use the same sprite so they would need different variations to avoid something like

some sort of fucked up hulk hogan simulator got onto steam the other day
339  Developer / Art / Re: Scaling Pixel Art for mobile games on: September 14, 2013, 02:04:50 PM
developing a pixel art game for android just seems like the biggest pain in the ass for this reason
340  Developer / Art / Re: GIF's of games being worked on on: September 14, 2013, 02:57:00 AM
the sub led animation isnt even the most worrying part of that

its why did someone let those helmets be so off center look at all of that blank space above them
