But a boycott of an unrelated product is improper and destructive, unwarranted, redundant, and frankly out of hand. It's not a proportionate response or necessary to the fight.
there is more to a boycott than just the neoliberal idea of "dont do this and also you have no alternative" boycotting includes discussions and making people aware, giving them alternatives exactly what is happening here

especially if the victim would be easily defeated when his ideas are put in public.
also this is another thing he wouldnt be you seem to have a bizarrely uninformed view of what the world is actually like because opinions like his fit RIGHT in with society as a whole

I never said people shouldn't fight tooth and nail for constructive social ideals. But I think they should fight through the proper channels.
there is literally no proper channel for rebellion in an oppressive system like this. you have to do it everywhere. all the time.

also i have no clue if this has been made clear already but when you give a bigot some of your money, you are supporting their ideals by giving them the means to a larger audience
which in turn gives them more people to speak to
which, SPOOKY SCAREY ENOUGH, leads to other people becoming vocal about those same ideals
buying a bigot's shit game, even if the game holds no terrible opinions, is, in fact, supporting, awful,, opin, ion,s,,, ,

Then how am I supporting his ideas? I have a copy of Starship Troopers sitting on my desk here, and last I've checked America isn't a fascist paramilitary state because Ace Publishing now has my $8.99. no but its that because people actively support oppressive patriarchal ideals like the exact ones that this exact person who made this exact game is spouting and im going to take the biggest fucking piss all over you

Is it even worth the time to try to avoid any artist that might hold some sort of controversial or disgusting viewpoints?
yes, it's worth not supporting people that actively hate your people. obv you don't understand like is it rly that hard to believe that a person who happens to not be A Straight White Dude might be upset when their race or gender or sexuality is insulted and as a result would not want to give money to someone who just insulted them

weird

@geti it'd be nice if i could, yeah but it's also some nice practice for when clients get a stick up their butts about being ~100% accurate to the concept art~ also this MIGHT??? be finished now but the hand in the pocket is still bugging me a little bit so i'll probably make a bunch of tiny changes to that
