Hmmm sounds interesting. You say they're looking for artists to contribute as well? Would you mind elaborating on what artists may do to help out?

Yes, we are.
This is what we're doing: We feature 1 artist every week, showing 1 piece of exclusive art. We publish an interview in which you can tell about yourself, your work, inspiration, technique etc. We will link to your own personal portfolio page.
There’s also the chance you’ll get featured in one of the English print editions of our magazine, that we distribute at (amongst other venues) GDC (San Franciso) and GDC Europe/Gamecom (Germany). We are an independent publication, set up by two gamejournalists. At the moment we don't have much to offer in terms of financial compensation, but we love working together and offer a platform for artists to show their work.

Please let me know if you are interested!

Doesn't Control focus mainly on the Dutch games industry, with Dutch developers as target audience? I understand having promotional print editions for conventions to advertise the Dutch industry, but what would be the point of having a regularly updated international website? Is Control going to expand to have developers in general as target audience?

Yep, they're expanding and will bring developers together trough this new medium.

Anyone is welcome to give it a shot, including sigvatr and super joe. Wink

Control likes to expand and not only limit the focus on Dutch developers. We see so many international collaborations happening that it would be a loss if we won't try to reach out to both the Dutch as the international devs. We won't forget our target audience, but we would like to broaden our horizon.

Hi! My name is Kitty Calis and I'm the marketing and project manager at Control, the Dutch magazine for game developers. Recently I started writing news posts for the website and set my first few steps designing games together with jwaap for 7DFPS.

I help organize Utrecht Indie Meetup and the Utrecht Local Multiplayer Picnic and you might have spotted my face and fingers trying to tackle a game of Fingle in the game's trailer.
